我觉着是可数名词.可是在这个句子中前面却用了is.When there is cultural dissimilarities between the source language and the target language,free translation is usually used in idiom translation.该用is还是该用are啊?我这是从中国知网上下的论文,应该没有错误才对啊.到底为什么啊?

有可数也有不可数
但绝大多数出现不可数(U)不相似; 不同(difference; unlikeness)
如:Successors excel the Predecessors: Similarity and Dissimilarity Between Thoreau and Emerson 青出于蓝——梭罗与爱默生的异同
少数情况用可数(C)不同之处,相异点(a point or instance of difference)
如:10 Dissimilarities Between Justin Bieber And Kurt Cobain
因此楼主给的句中是有不准确的,简单的小错误dissimilarities应为dissimilarity
