China前面加定冠词绝对是错误的,国名前面,如果国名是一个单词的,一定不能加定冠词,只能加零冠词（就是不加冠词）.
China is an old country with a long history.
如果国名是合成的,就是说是由2个单词构成的,加定冠词：
The United States is the only superpower in the world now.
实际上,加不定冠词有的时候是可以的.
比如：A new China is rising in the east.
History用a是对的,我给你举个简单例子就行了:
He has a brother.
你看,brother前面还用a呢.
