Sam Walton must have been one of the best employers I ever worked for.He was a cheerful man who never threw his weight around .Everyone from top executive down to the ordinary worker could expect fair treatment at his hands.He was quick to recognize and reward hard work and to cultivate new ideas.Those who showed loyalty to the company were given the chance to buy stock.I did myself.And my children qualified for the scholarships he made available.Outside work he carried on much like ordinary folks and if you didn't know him you wouldn't be able to tell him apart from the other local people in the small town where we lived.
