用as引导,成为非限制性定语从句,意思略有不同,它表示"因为我过去没有放弃你,所以你现在也别放弃".而你现在的中文意思不是因果关系,用just like/as更好些.
顺便,"放弃我"的顺序应该give me up.很多谓语词组后面接的宾语是名词时,直接接在后面,而如果宾语是代词,就应该把代词放在谓语词组的动词和介词之间,反身代词除外.

看like是做动词还是做副词,做动词就不用,表示动作,意为喜欢,为系动词；
副词时表示-->像,需要加be动词或者如look,smell等系动词为前缀.
