Standing in front of me, there’s my partner who is checking on the GPS and talking to our headmaster. The sky started to get darker and darker and the stars started appearing. The unearthly freezing breeze raided on us, the leaves on the trees falling army-like to the west. The mockingbird choir sang, although it seemed peaceful in the morning but evil in the night. Without my partner noticing, a shadow slid through the woods silently, no footsteps, not even scraping onto the concentrated branches. I realized that I have no time to warn my friend but grab the machine gun beside of us and look into it, aiming for the strange shadow. Facing towards the dark woods, but while I’m setting my target it blackened my sight. I slowly put down my gun and saw a huge knife that already settled on my neck. That’s when I became unconscious.

The greatest of all fictional detectives,Sherlock Holmes,along with his loyal,somewhat obtuse companion Dr.Watson,made his first appearance in Arthur (later Sir Arthur) Conan Doyle's novel A Study in Scarlet (1887) and continued into the 20th century in such collections of stories as The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (1894) and the longer Hound of the Baskervilles (1902).So great was the appeal of Sherlock Holmes's detecting style that the death of Conan Doyle did little to end Holmes's career; several writers,often expanding upon circumstances mentioned in the original works,have attempted to carry on the Holmesian tradition.
