Based on our previous work on the synthesis of open-framework cobalt phosphites in a hydro/solvothermal system,18,19 we extended our research to investigating the role of the solvent.Presently,we have prepared three new cobalt phosphites with 1D [C4N2H12][Co(HPO3)2] (1),2D [(C4N2H12)0.5(C2NH8)][Co2(HPO3)3] (2),and 3D [C2NH8]2[Co3(HPO3)4] (3) structures in the presence of the same organic amine under solvothermal conditions.All compounds are built up from vertex-sharing CoO4 tetrahedra and HPO3 pseudo-pyramids,resulting in extended structures of different
dimensionalities (as 1D chain,2D layer and 3D open-framework,respectively).In this paper,we present the synthesis,structures and magnetic properties of these compounds.
