I'm not very clear about...

confusing 后面跟物体； confused 是人的感觉.
你可以说i'm confused about these words,也可以说these confusing words made me fustrated.
其实道理跟interested,interesting一样.

1.same .as ...前后有比较的意思,as 是连词
same .that...中的that 只是一个定语从句的引导词而已
This is the same man THAT was here yesterday.这是昨天来这里的那个人(同一个人).
如果说成：This is the same man WHO was here yesterday,你一定很清楚,其实是一样的.
2.He wasn't such a man AS he used to be.他不像以往那样了.such...as...的一种用法.有前后比较的意思.如果没有SUCH,又想用THAT,应该是 He wasn't the man that he used to be.that 引导定语从句,主句用THE.他不是以往的那个他了.当然THAT 可以省略.
3.Don't talk about such things AS you don't understand.不要讨论你不明白的事.
such...as...的另一种用法.as 是连词,表示“像”“比如”,原意是：不要讨论这样的事,比如你不懂的事.
这句话如果用THAT,应该是：Don't talk the things that you don't understand.意思是不要谈论那些你不明白的事情.
4.请比较这两个句子：This is the knife that we cut the bread with.
This is the knife that we cut the bread.
严格意义上讲,第二句是错的.因为你必须说 We cut the bread with the knife.这里的WITH 不能省略.这样是不是比较容易理解第四句,为什么要用WITH WHICH 而不用THAT.
当然在口语中所有答案应该没什么太大的问题,但如果是考试,就应该选最对的,最好的.而且要体会问题的考点在哪里.
