In this study we report the results of pilot plant
studies for nitri?cation and denitri?cation of mixed
industrial wastewater streams at pH-values up to 9.
The purpose of these investigations was to deter-
mine optimal conditions for denitri?cation and
aerobic removal of organic carbon without pH-
adjustment and to work out conditions for nitri?ca-
tion of ammonia.Furthermore post-treatment of
the wastewater with UV/H2O2 to oxidize organic
compounds or to increase the biodegradability of
organic compounds of ultra?ltration permeates of
cooling lubricants was tested.
