I am a huge fan of the Kung Fu Panda movies,so I was interested when this show was announced.I thought it might satisfy my desire for Kung Fu Panda action while I was waiting for the theatrical features and assorted specials to arrive.
Unfortunately,this show is a bastardization of the original movies.Sure,the writing for the movies is not especially good,but they're Shakespeare compared to the mind numbingly dumb jokes and plot twists that make up the episodes of this show.A majority of the episodes I've watched have plot holes so glaringly obvious that it's just inexcusable.Worst of all,the characters in the show often act in a manner inconsistent with how they act in the movies.For example,serious characters like Shifu and Tigress can act like like fools and jokers if the plot calls for it.
Yes,the animation and art is good,and serves the the Kung Fu Panda art style well.However,that cannot make up for the fact that the show is just simply poorly written.Don't waste your time unless you're that hard up for a Kung Fu Panda fix.
