known as reptiles.the word“dinosaur”means“terrible lizard（蜥蜴）
there were many different kinds of dinosaur.some of them were plant eaters.the huge bron-tosaurus was one of these.its name means”thunder lizard."it was called this because its big feet made a noise like thunder when it walked.
other dinosaurs hunted for meat to eat.tyrannosaurus rex was this kind of hunter;this is why he was called"rex"the word "rex"means"king.tyrannosaurus rex had huge teeth.they were was long as pencils and very,very sharp.they ate other dinosaurs.
some dinosaurs had a way of keeping safe from their hunting relative .they had hard plates on their backs that were like armor.when danger was near,they just sat tight .one of these was ankylosaurus.it also had a strong tail.
not all dinosaurs were huge,there were some that were about the size of a chicken ;oviraptor was one of this kins.even the huge ones had small heads,though,and tiny brains.
there are many things we do not know about dinosaurs.for example .what color were they?scientists think they were brown or green,but they are not sure .the biggest question that has not been answered is,why did they die out?whatever the reason,the only place we can come face to face with a dinosaur today is in a nuseum
