I'm enjoying myself on my exchange program in France. It's even better than I thought it would be.
I was a bit nervous before I arrived here, but there was no reason to be. My host family is really nice. They go out of their way to make me feel at home. And you wouldn't believe how quickly my French has improved! I'm very comfortable speaking French now. Although I still make lots of mistakes, it doesn't bother me as it used to.
My biggest challenge is learning how to behave at the dinner table. As you can imagine, things are really not the same as the way they are at home. For example, you're not supposed to put your bread on your plate. You're supposed to put it on the table!I thought that was pretty strange at first, but now I'm used to it. You're not supposed to eat anything with your hands except bread, not even fruit! (You have to cut it up and eat it with a fork.)
Another thing is that it is very rude to say you're full. If you don't want any more food, you should just say, "It was delicious." Also, it's rude to put your hands in your lap. You should always keep your hands, but not your elbows, on the table.
I have to say, I find it difficult to remember everything, but I'm gradually getting used to things and don't find them so strange any more.

刚到这儿时我还有点紧张,现在想来完全没必要.我寄宿的一家人都很好,他们想方设法让我有回到家的感觉.我都不敢相信自己的法语提高得这么快!现在我法语说的可溜了,虽然还是有不少错误,可我再也不像以前那么纠结于此了.
目前,对我最大的挑战是餐桌礼仪.这儿的规矩可跟家里的大不一样,想必你也略知一二.比方说,你应该把面包放在桌子上,而不是盘子里.一开始,我感觉这怪怪的,可现在已经习惯了.除了吃面包,其它所有的东西你都不能用手拿着吃,连吃水果也不行.（你得先把它切成块,然后再用叉子叉进嘴里.）
还有,直接说“我饱了”是很失礼的,要是你确实不想再吃了,可以说“这真好吃!”同样,把手放在大腿上也是缺乏教养的动作,就餐过程中,你的手要始终放在桌面上,但是千万别把肘关节也支在桌面上.
我得承认,一下子记住这么多真的挺难,可我正在慢慢适应,至少再也不会感觉这些规矩是怪怪的了.

In recent years, study abroad has flourished. Thousands of scholars and students have gone to foreign countries to study. Many people are sparing no efforts in applying for going abroad.
Attending schools abroad has many advantages. Firstly, students who have studied abroad can act as mediators between peoples of different cultures so as to promote international understanding. Secondly, we can learn much more advanced knowledge of science and technology from the foreign countries. Thirdly, we can enjoy the contact with new and different cultures so as to increase the awareness of our own culture. Fourthly, we can learn a foreign language more quickly.
However, study abroad may have disadvantages such as language barrier in the first few months or financial difficulties before getting a scholarship. Besides, being far away from home country, students may feel lonely. In spite of these, the advantages greatly outweigh the disadvantages. It is advisable to attend schools abroad.

Study abroad
Choosing which university to attend is a big decision for a young person to make.Some students prefer to stay near their homes,and live with their parents while at school.Others choose to move far away to a different country for their education.I believe that latter students choose to move away to experience a new culture,to learn a new language,or to go to a specific university that specializes in their field of study.
Moving to a new country is an eye-opening experience.The way society works in other cultures is very different from one's own.For example,I had a friend who went to school in Canada.She constantly told me stories about the differences in the food,the architecture,and the way people treat each other.One cannot fully understand his/her own culture until he/her has compared it with another that is vastly different.For this reason,moving to a new country to go to school can be of great importance for students who wish to study international relations.
When one moves to a new country,it is much easier to learn the language of that country.For example,my friend who moved to Canada studied English for years before her departure.While she could express herself,she never fully mastered the language.However,upon her return,I was shocked and amazed at her new level of English.She was completely fluent,and thus gained a great new skill because she studied abroad.
The last reason why students choose to study abroad is because in some cases,doing so is the only way to enter the program one is interested in.For example,if one wants to study marine biology,it would be best if he/she went to a university that was located near the ocean.Also,some schools are known to be the best in a particular field.For instance,in America,Harvard is known to be the best school for law.
So,I believe that students study away because they are interested in learning about new cultures,learning new languages,or studying specific programs.While there are many excellent reasons to study in one's home country,studying abroad can offer many new and exciting experiences.

I went abroad for futher studying last year. However, I have met many problems at the first year. My English wasn't pretty good and it's hard to communicate with the people around me and understand what the teachers were saying. Luckily, the classmates and teachers are very friendly here, and I have met many friends. I learn a lot here, and so I enjoy studying abroad a lot.
