比如Tom is the taller of the two people.
形容词最高级一般是要加the的,但是表示“再,又”就不需要.怎么说呢,举个例子吧.Two days to finish this work is impossible ,we need a third day .意思是“两天完成这个工作是不可能的,我们还需要一天.”这里third就有“再,又”的含义拉.我举的例子是属于特殊情况,形容词一般都要加the的.
如果是副词修饰动词的话加不加the都可以.比如 He ran most slowly .“他跑得最慢”,这里slowly是副词修饰动词run,所以最高级the可以不加,当然加了也没错.
