Boys、Britney Spears、Eminem 等人，收获了大众投票的最高票数… 二十年是个 “可怕” 的数字。试问有多少乐队可以共同走过二十年的时间呢？然而，Linkin Park 做到了。在经历了一段波澜不惊、稳扎稳打的音乐旅程之后，Linkin Park 于 2017 年带着沉淀已久的新专辑《One More Light》再度回归，同时也开始新一轮的北美巡演。这本该是让一众粉丝欢欣雀跃的事，然而正当一切重回轨道之时，Chester 的不幸离世成为了震惊整个乐坛的噩耗，也给乐队其他成员留下了不可磨灭的伤痛。 成员 Mike Shinoda 就曾在社交媒体上表示自己经历了如同 “坐云霄飞车” 般的一段时间，并借着对 Chester 的深切思念创作出了个人专辑《Post Linkin Park 成军以来的这 20 多年，从横空出世、音乐元素多元的《Hybrid Theory》，到《Minutes to Midnight》主题的引人深思，再到后期的流行化，你如何看待作品的创新和改变？ Joe Hahn： 乐队刚起步的时候，我们是怀揣某种特殊的能量开始的。不管是流行、摇滚、重金属、Hip-Hop 还是电子元素，那个时候的我们想去探索各种可能性，去尝试把所有这些单独的东西融合在一起，创造出一种别人没有的全新声音。我们将这份动态感的能量及我们想要表达的情绪放在歌词里，寻求发泄。其中确实会有一些消极的情绪在，但音乐最终成为了我们的出口，这些自我处境的反映与表达从而转变成了积极的情感。 或许是人们对此感同身受，不管是情感问题，生活中的挫折，还是对于未来的迷茫感，我们写的音乐和歌词可以说让大家找到了很多的共鸣。 这种世界性的情感共鸣让我们不仅在美国收获了人气，也让我们之后有了机会来到中国，甚至去到那些完全听不懂英文的国家，但即便他们听不懂，他们也能理解其中的感情。 而后期经历音乐性上的变革那是自然而然发生的事。我们想要提高自己，想实验更多不同的东西。如何去创造期待之外的东西，如何把成员们各自的想法融合在一起，这是我们在音乐上，或者是视觉创作上的共同追求。我和 Mike 上的还是同一所艺术中心设计学校，我们会从艺术电影中找灵感，不过更重要的是从生活的方方面面中寻找灵感和突破。 N： 我们知道除了音乐制作之外，你和 Mike 也负责设计了乐队的 logo、专辑封面，你甚至还亲自导演了多支 MV，所以将音乐通过视觉概念来进行具象化的传达是一个怎样的过程？ Joe Hahn： 我和成员们总是会从生活中观察并试图反映出一些事情。音乐灵感可以来自每个地方，我可能梦想拥有一件东西，那我就写一首关于这个东西的歌；我看了一部电影，其中的故事我特别喜欢，或者它蕴含着某种吸引我的能量，或者说我站在了全然不同的角度对此有所感悟，我都希望去抓住这些灵感，去思考，然后创作出来。视觉艺术也是一样， 绘画作品、漫画书、电影、时尚都会成为我们的灵感源泉，最重要的是你如何用自己的想法将这些生活中的事物连接在一起，从而变成创意 。 「 乐队间的情感难以用言语解释，影像会是有力的表达方式 」 N： 向我们介绍一下这次的展出内容吧，为什么主题是《CARRY ON》？你希望传达什么或是令大家从中感受到什么？ Joe Hahn： 《CARRY ON》是我从 2017 年 4 月开始进行的个人项目，它的概念和旅行有关。打个比方，你在家的时候身边会有所有你需要的东西，但当你出门旅行的时候，你会挑出一些必需品放在你的那只 “carry on bag“ 里，而对我来说，照相机就是我这只 “carry on bag” 中的必需品。在那段时间我经常携带一台我喜爱的相机在身边，正巧那时候我们的 One More Light 巡演也在进行中，于是就自然而然地记录下了这些珍贵回忆，不过后来我们停止巡演后这个项目也就告一段落了。 除了旅行的概念，我还赋予了它第二层意思，那就是 “carry on with my life“。 这些照片不仅是储存回忆的时间胶囊，也是让我可以展望未来、继续好好生活的一种疗愈手段。 N： 比起其他摄影师的拍摄，作为乐队 DJ 的你亲自记录下的这些巡演画面一定有一些不一样的视角吧？ Joe Hahn： 因为我知道现场进行的每一个细节，行动也很自如，可以去到一些没人会去的位置，所以我的视角是独一无二的。再者巡演上的大部分歌曲我们都已经演了二十年了，我很清楚什么时候我可以空出手来进行拍摄，比如有时候只需要 vocal 和吉他演奏的时候，我就会到处跑一跑。只要灯光到位，或者我觉得某个瞬间十分特别，我就会按下快门。惊喜的是最后出来的这些照片质量很高，所以我就决定拿出来与身边的人以及粉丝分享。 其中我拍下了 Chester、Mike 以及其他所有乐队成员表演时充满魔力的时刻，舞台上的氛围和能量是极致的。 这些照片背后藏着乐队的友情，藏着我们与粉丝间的情感共鸣，这种情愫难以用言语去解释，所以我认为通过影像记录会是一种有力的表达方式。 N： 我们知道巡演期间乐队不幸经历了 Chester 的离世，这次的展览算是一次对 Chester 的缅怀吗？对于你来说 Chester 又在你的人生历程中扮演了怎样的角色？ Joe Hahn： 当然，缅怀 Chester 是一大部分，去年 Mike 发了个人专辑怀念 Chester，而我这次的摄影展也算是用我自己的方式来纪念与 Chester 之间的回忆。但占据更大部分的是对整个乐队的回忆吧。 我们这六个人从校园时期就一起成长，一起度过了半辈子，我们是最好的朋友。能够促使乐队一路走到现在的最大力量就是我们的友谊。 除此之外，我还想借此向我们的粉丝表达感激。我也拍下了很多粉丝的照片，都在这次展览中展出。其中我最喜欢的一张就是《The Grabing Hands》，这张照片上有粉丝抓着 Chester 的手臂，但我没有刻意去突出他们的脸，而是把镜头聚焦在了那个触碰的瞬间，我很喜欢这个细节。 「 开演唱会或发新专辑，都不再是我们会去刻意讨论的事情 」 N： Chester 离开大家的这一年多时间里，乐队成员经历了怎样的心路历程？ Joe Hahn： 我们失去了最好的朋友，这种感觉是无法用言语表明的。我相信乐队里的每一位成员都用很个人的方式度过了一段很艰难的时期，对于这一点我并没有话语权去替他们表达心声。但我想说的是，当事情发生的时候， 我们未来将会有什么进一步的计划，以及接下来要做怎样的音乐，这一切的一切都不再是我们的优先考量，我们只想把关注放在成员之间的关系上 。 N： 前几天在一个新闻采访里看到你说成员正在讨论一起制作全新的音乐？ Joe Hahn： 一直以来我都会被问 Linkin Park 对我们来说也是一样，做音乐是我们的共同爱好，我们只希望可以享受在一起的时光，然后自然而然地产出点东西。何时开演唱会，何时会发新专辑，这些真的都不是我们会去刻意讨论的事情。更多的是成员们聚在一起分享各自的灵感，然后一起玩音乐，最后再把它变为现实。再或者仅仅是简单地在一起吃顿午餐或晚餐，带着我们的孩子一起玩耍，这才是我们一起会做的事。 N： 就你个人而言，接下来还会有什么样的计划和打算？ Joe Hahn： 我在我朋友间是出了名的爱到处跑，可以说我是身兼数职（笑）。我一直在制作音乐，也会去到外面的活动当 DJ，同样也办各种各样的艺术项目，比如说这次的摄影展…当然也尝试着各种绘画，最近还创作了壁画。我也会自己当导演拍摄一些 MV 或是商业广告。去年 12 月我就帮 Mercedes 导了一部商业片。还有几个月前，我帮 Steve Aoki 和 BTS（防弹少年团）导了歌曲《Waste It
