Experts warn that medical waste from hospitals,if____ properly, may contribute to spreading diseases.
选 A.not handled
It it was not handled properly,被动语态省略了系动词和主语就是过去分词的形式.

Experts warn that medical waste from hospitalsmay contribute to spreading diseases,if (it is)not handled properly.

Twenty years ago, most experts believed that differences in how boys and girls behaved were mainly due to differences in how they were treated by their parents, teachers, and friends. It’s hard to cling to that belief today. Recent research has shown that there are biological differences between boys and girls. Understanding these differences is important in raising and educating children.
For example, girls are born with more sensitive hearing than boys, and the difference increases as kids grow up. So when a grown man speaks to a girl in what he thinks is a normal voice, she may hear it as yelling. Conversely (反过来), boys who appear to be inattentive in class may just be sitting too far away too hear the teacher.
Likewise, girls are better in their expression of feelings. Studies reveal that negative emotions are seated in an area of the brain called the amygdala. Girls develop all early connection between this area and the cerebral cortex (大脑皮层), enabling them to talk about their feelings. In boys these links develop later. So if you ask a troubled adolescent boy to tell you what his feelings are, he often cannot say much.
Dr. Sax, an advocate of single-sex education, points out that keeping boys and girls separate in the classroom has yielded striking educational, social, and interpersonal benefits. Therefore, parents and teachers should try to recognize, understand, and make use of the biological differences that make a girl a girl, and a boy a boy.
67.What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Boys tend to pay less attention in class than girls.
B. Girls are better than boys in their ability to detect sounds.
C. Boys and girls behave differently because of biological differences.
D. Single-sex schools are not good because they keep boys and girls separate.
68.Why do girls express negative feelings better than boys?
A. Girls are more emotional than boys.
B. Girls have more brain cells than boys.
C. The amygdala is located in different areas of the brain for boys and girls.
D. The links between certain parts of the brain develop earlier in girls than in boys.
69.Which of the following does the author believe?
A. Girls need more training in communication.
B. Boys and girls should be educated in different ways.
C. Parents should pay more attention to boys.
D. Sex differences should be ignored in education。
70.What does the phase “cling to” in the first paragraph mean?

Experts say it is not easy to get used to life in a new cult

Experts say it is not easy to get used to life in a new culture. “ Culture shock” is the term these experts use when talking about the feelings that people have in a new environment. There are three stages of culture shock, say the experts. In the first stage, the newcomers like their new environment. Then, when the fresh experience dies, they begin to hate the city, the country, the people and everything else. In the last stage, the newcomers begin to adjust to their surroundings and, as a result, enjoy their life more.
There are some obvious factors in culture shock. The weather may be unpleasant. The customs may be different. The public service systems---the telephone, post office ,or transportation --may be difficult to work out. The simplest things seem to be big problems. The language may be difficult.
Who feels culture shock? Everyone does in this way or that. But culture shock surprises most people. Very often the people having the worst culture shock are those who never had any difficulties in their home countries and were successful in their community. Coming to a new country, these people find they do not have the same established positions. They find themselves without a role, almost without an identity. They have to build a new self-image.
Culture shock causes a feeling of disorientation (迷惘). This feeling may be homesickness. When homesick, people feel like staying inside all the time. They want to protect themselves from the strange environment, and create an escape inside their room for a sense of security. This escape does solve the problem of culture shock for the short term, but it does nothing to make the person familiar with the culture. Getting to know the new environment and gaining experience--these are the long-term solutions to the problem of culture shock.
小题1:According to the passage, the more successful you are at home, _________________.
A.the fewer difficulties you may have abroad

C.the more money you will earn abroad
D.the less homesick you will feel abroad

B.In the second stage of “ Culture shock”, people may hate the life in the new environment
C.When you are homesick, you had better not stay at home all the time
D.Every one of us doesn’t feel culture shock in this way or that
小题3:.What is the main idea of the last paragraph?
A.Escape unfamiliar environment

C.The best way to overcome (克服、战胜)culture shock: get familiar with the new culture

(3)Computer experts have been gripped by fear of a dangerous
(3)
Computer experts have been gripped by fear of a dangerous illness. It is highly contagious, difficult to diagnose and in many cases impossible to cure.
It is not computer experts or programming staff who are likely to be affected, but rather the electronic data banks themselves.Computer programmes are threatened by a computer “virus” that can paralyses entire computer networks once it has been smuggled into the system.
Initially, the viruses were quite harmless.Amateur computer enthusiasts smuggled them into big electronic systems, where they showed up as little massages or games.Such spectacular cases of computer espionage have shown that the big data banks are efficient, but also vulnerable.
Many experts complain that computer safety has been neglected for too long.By threatening to place a computer virus into the heart of the electronic data system,a large company could be put under extreme pressure. The damage done by computer viruses is already incalculable. The insidious thing about computer viruses is that if they are well programmed they will spread throughout the entire system unnoticed.Bit by bit they infect the programmes that they have access to and then one day they jump into action all at once.
And there seem to be hardly any counter measures. The chance of finding a computer virus in an electronic system without comprehensive know how and technical programme assistance is practically zero.
As an antidote,“virus blockers” have been introduced to keep viruses from entering and detect viruses tat have already gained access. The main attraction is that the virus blocker is the first anti virus programme that protects itself against virus infection.
1.According to this passage,computer viruses .
A.are not very harmful
B.can affect computer experts and programming staff

D.those who carry on espionage by computers
3.The infection of computer viruses is characterized by .
A.an insidious process
B.an immediate manifestation
C.an extreme pressure
D.a jumping action
4.To find a computer virus in an electronic system without comprehensive know how is .
A.very easy B.a good practice
C.almost impossible D.a technical problem
5.Which of the following statements is true?
A.Computer experts can do nothing to prevent computer viruses

最好用as.
as sb expect/know/believe/suppose/think/consider/regard/suggest/recommend/advise,
as is expected/known/believed/supposed/thought/suggested/recommended/advised,
as is often the case, such...as...;the same...as...

Health experts have discovered that adding low-calorie veget
Health experts have discovered that adding low-calorie vegetable soup to the start of a meal can actually help to lose weight.
Because you feel full sooner, you eat less of your main course.
The soup regime(养生法)was tested by researchers at Pennsylvania State University, led by Dr Barbara Rolls.
They found that when people ate a first course of soup before lunch they reduced their total calorie intake by 20 per cent, compared with those who did not begin the meal with soup.
But those who favor creamy soups should be careful.Researchers stressed the soup must be low-calorie and based on stock(菜汤), not cream.
All of the soups tested in the study were made from identical ingredients - chicken stock , broccoli(硬花甘蓝), potato, cauliflower(菜花)and carrots.
They were mixed together to create four different textures and thickness from separate stock and vegetables through to pureed soup.
Scientists thought that thick soups with chunks of vegetables which required chewing might be more filling, but to their surprise they found all forms had the same effect.
The findings were presented to the Experimental Biology conference in Washington, DC, and the research was part-funded by the National Institutes of Health.

the accumulating evidence made the experts think the animal was puma.
make sb do sth
make 动词 sb 宾语,do sth 是宾语补足语 ,其实 do 是前面省略了to的动词不定式,也就是说
He was made to do the work alone.
the accumulating evidence made the experts think 【that 省略了】the animal was puma.
【 the accumulating evidence】主语
【 made】谓语
【 the experts】宾语
【 think】 宾补
{(that 省略了)【the animal】从句主语【 was】从句谓语 【puma】从句宾语.}宾语从句

Experts say if you have to choose between a diet or exercise to lose weight, choose exercise.A new study suggests it's better to hit the weight room than cut back on how much you eat.
And although the goal is the same -- use more energy than you stockpile -- working out has more benefits.
People who exercise tend to be stronger, have more muscle mass, and an increased aerobic capacity.Dieters tend to lose muscle mass and strength.
"If push comes to shove and somebody wants to know if they should diet or exercise to lose weight,I would suggest exercise, provided they are willing to put in the extra time and effort and not offset the gains they make by eating more," said study lead author Edward Weiss,a researcher at Saint Louis University's Doisy College of Health Sciences

第一题选C,固定搭配,make sb do sth

1.选C make sb do sth.

我想不通的是不是说说we are in need of experts.那改成被动语态的时候,不是应该有介词吗experts are in need of?就像they are taken good care of

Indeed, patent experts often advise anyone wishing to avoid the high cost of conducting a search through live patents that the one sure way of avoiding violation of any other inventor’ s right is to plagiarize a dead patent.
patent experts advise anyone that.
wishing to avoid the high cost of conducting a search through live patents
宾语从句:the one sure way of avoiding violation of any other inventor’ s right is to plagiarize a dead patent.
the one sure way of avoiding violation of any other inventor’ s right 是主语,to plagiarize a dead patent不定式结构作表语.

than had been previously thought其实是一句省略句,如果全说出来就是
"Experts in marine life say that there is a closer relationship between dolphin and man-eating sharks than EXPERTS IN MARINE LIFE had been previously thought."

The manuscript has been identified by experts as authentic works by Vicent van Gogh.
