First I want to take force for the mind character-Shane.He’s original himself (ID) was just like what you see in the video.He is a young gunfighter,strong,brave,straight,unrestrained,good manner.But I am not going to talk a lot about his “ID” because it was already showed very completely in the movie.He doesn't want to working for anyone.Form the 67 mins -“ I’m working for myself ”even the leader old man - Ryker said will kind of pay for him with a special remuneration if he can be ones of them.However Shane was supposed be into troubling but he still refused.
The other of him (Super-ego) The super-ego strives to act in a socially appropriate manner,whereas the id just wants instant self-gratification.The super-ego controls our sense of right and wrong and guilt.In the beginning when Shane was met Joe’s family that ‘s the first time he met Marian .The background music was changed in the sudden.The music had been warm and fragrant.That's the first deviance why Shane chose to stay with Straett ever the director showed to us.
And the other point is in that celebration,Strarett was given a kiss to Marian,after that Shane’s face was look a little embarrassing.Therefor I asserted that he got some unusual feelings form Straett’ s wife-Marian.In these of points I believe Shane was like Marian and also he does exactly known she was married.He thought he shouldn't has any relationship with her because of the probable with society's morals.According to Freud's theory,Ego defense mechanisms are often used by the ego when id behavior conflicts with reality and either society's morals,norms,and taboos.Therefor it can be explain why he had put himself in dangers and get that gunfight.Actually if he hadn’t knocked Starett out in the claim Starett might be death in the gunfight,after than he could take care Marian and joey in very justifiably.Even he really loves Marian but `the other himself ’ don't let him builds his own happiness on others' suffering.
In regards to psychology,Shane’s (id) hopes to stay with Marian and wanna a good ending but the `super-ego’ controls the sense of right and wrong so that’s why he wasn't cared himself to been there and got the gunfight.In fact he was known he will get hurt or die in that place but he didn’t considered anymore because super-ego told him that is right.

他的（本我）希望能够跟marian有进一步关系和幸福的收场，可是（超自我）控制及分辨对与错，所以这能解释到为何他不要命也要去斗枪是因为不让自己有罪恶感，还有他的超自我分辨出这样做是对的。
