pass on 中的on是介词还是副词?

有点不同.
PASS是指传递,而PASS ON是指转交,如:
Pass me the ball.传球
Pass on this paper to him.把这张纸转交给他

Stay at home,don't pass on the disease to other people.

pass the message 的意思是传递这个消息,没有表达一个接着一个传递的意思.
pass on the message 的意思更倾向于把这个消息接着传递下去,有一个接着一个传递的意思.

1、pass,把东西递到别人手里或者递到某个地方；
pass on 两层意思,作为短语讲的时候是“去世”的意思,等于pass away；第二层意思,后边接一个地方时,表示从旁边经过.
2、pass sth.to sb.指把东西递给某人或把东西递到某个地方；pass sth.on to sb,也有递东西的意思,不过里边多了层含义,“你收到东西,或者你用过之后” 再递给别人.

两个都有去世的意思,用法也基本相同,不过pass on还有传递的意思,用它的话可能有时候会引起歧义的.而pass away的意思是去世, 停止, 离去, 消逝,比较常用.
