1Abandoned boy"s adventure1 in London(雾都孤儿)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

本故事abridge6/abbreviate2自狄更斯小说雾都孤儿,就算是个abbreviation2/abstract8,或者叫个adaptation5也可以吧。

他abdicated3对奥立弗的起诉,最终奥立弗被判absolution1/acquittal2。 你要是肯过abstemious4/abstinent的生活,就跟我做个ancillary/acolyte1 /adjunct2(助手)吧。

,过上了abound/abundance3衣足食的生活。

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

你可能会听说过这个anecdote3(小故事)吧。

但他很快发现lunatic asylum里并不像他想象得那样是个充满affectionate2(慈爱的)affection16(亲情)的地方。恰恰相反,这里充满了affectation5(虚饰)。 其实这一切affected3表面现象都不过是为了conceal一个事实:在alabaster(雪白)的alcove1(凹室)之中,病人们像anthropoid一样被彼此alienated1(隔离)/aloof3,饱受ailed1,每周只有一次外出到alley(小巷)/ aisle1(走廊)放风amble3(漫步)的机会。他们的病情在这里不但没有alleviate10/allay1,反而更加aggravate6/amplified1/aggrandize。

就这样,他们的待遇一点amelioration/amendment1(改善)/alteration(改变)也没有。

现在他再也不会有anguish1,再也不需要analgesic3/anodyne了。

怀着affection16与agony1的ambivalence 4心情,他的病友killed him and escaped。

最初,因为arrogant3(傲慢)而arbitrary7(专横)的医学界arbiter1/arbitrator4总以assay2(化验)不通过为由,认为这种药不appropriate8/apposite3/apropos1用于人体,所以尽管ardent3的弗莱明一再assure绝对无害,仍然没人敢尝试它。

既然谈到了科学,不妨再谈谈它的antithesis1(对立面)—apocryphal1(伪)科学吧。

吓得刘邦脸都blanch/bleach1了。 这一bout1刘邦又bilk1(挫败, 诈骗)了范增。

项羽最后被beleaguer1/besiege1在垓下,suicide了。

桑回答:“OK, let"s go。”

路上,唐看到一群churlish1的churls1(土人) colt(鞭打)一匹小colt(马驹),coerce2它狂奔。 于是他chased1(追赶)上去跟那帮churls1发生一场clashed1/collide1(冲突/碰撞),结果被打得鼻青脸肿。

因此被认为是当世constellation(将星群)中最璀璨的一颗。

刘备连忙conciliated1/propitiate张飞,并且决定带一点confection1(糖果) condiment(调料)之类的小礼品,condescend自己去拜见孔明。

heissuchafuddy-duddy.

A、E、I、O、U通常都是元音字母。

shy造句 1、What situation makes youshy? 2、Theshygirl was afraid to contradict. 3、Was heshyas a child? 4、She is tooshyto dare accost him. 5、Mary was veryshybefore she met Jack; he brought her out a lot.

ac由ad而来,字首 ad 源自拉丁文介系词 ad,在拉丁文中为 to 之意. ad 的拼法变化相当复杂,为了与字根配合,第二个字母d会消失或同化,而衍生出 a,ac,af,ag,al,an,ap,ar,as,at 各种形态,如 accustom v. [使习惯於],affix v. [黏上],append v.

He closed his eyes and composed himself with infinite precaution. He steeled himself to keep above the suffocating languor that lapped like a rising tide through all the wells of his being. It was very like a sea, this deadly languor, that rose and rose and drowned his consciousness bit by bit. Sometimes he was all but submerged, swimming through oblivion with a faltering stroke; and again, by some strange alchemy of soul, he would find another shred of will and strike out more strongly. Without movement he lay on his back, and he could hear, slowly drawing near and nearer, the wheezing intake and output of the sick wolf"s breath. It drew closer, ever closer, through an infinitude of time, and he did not move. It was at his ear. The harsh dry tongue grated like sandpaper against his cheek. His hands shot out - or at least he willed them to shoot out. The fingers were curved like talons, but they closed on empty air. Swiftness and certitude require strength, and the man had not this strength. The patience of the wolf was terrible. The man"s patience was no less terrible. For half a day he lay motionless, fighting off unconsciousness and waiting for the thing that was to feed upon him and upon which he wished to feed. Sometimes the languid sea rose over him and he dreamed long dreams; but ever through it all, waking and dreaming, he waited for the wheezing breath and the harsh caress of the tongue. He did not hear the breath, and he slipped slowly from some dream to the feel of the tongue along his hand. He waited. The fangs pressed softly; the pressure increased; the wolf was exerting its last strength in an effort to sink teeth in the food for which it had waited so long. But the man had waited long, and the lacerated hand closed on the jaw. Slowly, while the wolf struggled feebly and the hand clutched feebly, the other hand crept across to a grip. Five minutes later the whole weight of the man"s body was on top of the wolf. The hands had not sufficient strength to choke the wolf, but the face of the man was pressed close to the throat of the wolf and the mouth of the man was full of hair. At the end of half an hour the man was aware of a warm trickle in his throat. It was not pleasant. It was like molten lead being forced into his stomach, and it was forced by his will alone. Later the man rolled over on his back and slept. There were some members of a scientific expedition on the whale- ship BEDFORD. From the deck they remarked a strange object on the shore. It was moving down the beach toward the water. They were unable to classify it, and, being scientific men, they climbed into the whale-boat alongside and went ashore to see. And they saw something that was alive but which could hardly be called a man. It was blind, unconscious. It squirmed along the ground like some monstrous worm. Most of its efforts were ineffectual, but it was persistent, and it writhed and twisted and went ahead perhaps a score of feet an hour. Three weeks afterward the man lay in a bunk on the whale-ship BEDFORD, and with tears streaming down his wasted cheeks told who he was and what he had undergone. He also babbled incoherently of his mother, of sunny Southern California, and a home among the orange groves and flowers. The days were not many after that when he sat at table with the scientific men and ship"s officers. He gloated over the spectacle of so much food, watching it anxiously as it went into the mouths of others. With the disappearance of each mouthful an expression of deep regret came into his eyes. He was quite sane, yet he hated those men at mealtime. He was haunted by a fear that the food would not last. He inquired of the cook, the cabin-boy, the captain, concerning the food stores. They reassured him countless times; but he could not believe them, and pried cunningly about the lazarette to see with his own eyes. It was noticed that the man was getting fat. He grew stouter with each day. The scientific men shook their heads and theorized. They limited the man at his meals, but still his girth increased and he swelled prodigiously under his shirt. The sailors grinned. They knew. And when the scientific men set a watch on the man, they knew too. They saw him slouch for"ard after breakfast, and, like a mendicant, with outstretched palm, accost a sailor. The sailor grinned and passed him a fragment of sea biscuit. He clutched it avariciously, looked at it as a miser looks at gold, and thrust it into his shirt bosom. Similar were the donations from other grinning sailors. The scientific men were discreet. They let him alone. But they privily examined his bunk. It was lined with hardtack; the mattress was stuffed with hardtack; every nook and cranny was filled with hardtack. Yet he was sane. He was taking precautions against another possible famine - that was all. He would recover from it, the scientific men said; and he did, ere the BEDFORD"S anchor rumbled down in San Francisco Bay.

可设椭圆方程为(x²/a²)+(y²/b²)=1 (a>b>0)两个焦点F1(-c,0),F2(c,0)长轴的两个端点A1(-a,0),A2(a,0)因点P在椭圆上,故可设P(acost,bsint), t∈R。由两点间距离公式可得|PF1|²=(acost+c)²+(bsint)²=a²cos²t+2accost+c²+b²sin²t=(a²-b²)cos²t+2accost+c²+b²=c²cos²t+2accost+a²=(a+ccost)²由-1≤cost≤1 且a>c>0可知0<a-c≤a+ccost≤a+c∴|PF1|=a+ccost∴| PF1|min=a-c,此时,cost=-1,sint=0,P(-a,0)又|PF1|+|PF2|=2a∴当|PF1|min=a-c时,|PF2|max=a+c,此时点P在长轴的一个端点上。扩展资料:当焦点在x轴时,椭圆的标准方程是:x^2/a^2+y^2/b^2=1,(a>b>0);当焦点在y轴时,椭圆的标准方程是:y^2/a^2+x^2/b^2=1,(a>b>0);其中a^2-c^2=b^2推导:PF1+PF2>F1F2(P为椭圆上的点,F为焦点)设椭圆的两个焦点分别为F1,F2,它们之间的距离为2c,椭圆上任意一点到F1,F2的距离和为2a(2a>2c)。 当焦点在X轴上时焦点坐标F1(-c,0)F2(c,0)当焦点在Y轴上时焦点坐标F1(0,-c)F2(0,c)参考资料来源:百度百科--椭圆的标准方程
