Climbing the Great Wall at the Weekend
It was weekend again ,and it was sunny .My parents told me to pay a visit to the Great Wall. When we got to the bottom of it,we saw a crowd of people there. Boys and girls ,young and old ,men and women were everywhere. We were all excited and began to climb it. My parents asked me to be careful. We followed the steps ,walking towards the top of the Great Wall. Wow! What a nice view! The sun was shining ,the wind was blowing ,and the small hills are connected to each other far way. The great Wall lies on the earth, just like a huge long dragon. Soon we reached to the top of the Great Wall. Everything seemed to be under us. We were wild with joy and couldn"t help shouting out!
That was a great weekend, we all had fun.

The new term is coming. I am excited. I will be in eight grade next term.

Everyone loves to do something when he has free time, and I do, too. What"s my favorite activity? It"s shopping. Shopping is so exciting and fun. 8 A trip to Xingjiang
Last summer my parents took me to Xingjiang for a holiday. We went there by plane. Xingjiang is in the northwest of china. It is a beautiful and exciting place. We saw beautiful mountains, lakes and grass there. We ate a lot of delicious fruit .It was hot in the day and cold in the night. I rode a horse, climbed the high mountains and picked grapes. Although we were tired, we felt very excited. If you have a chance to go there. You"d better go there by train or by plane, but not by bus, because it will take you too much time.

From the first paragraph where the opening character farmer Gabriel Oak is desribed smiling, ‘the corners of his mouth spread till they were an unimportant distance from his ears‘ I fell in love with Hardy‘s narrative. His ability to use words that lift the description off the page and into the reader‘s imagination are not just outstanding but incredibly enjoyable.
I went into this book blindly, knowing little about the plot that lay ahead or even the genre. It has been described by some as romantic fiction. But I think this is too simplistic a title and and maybe slightly off-putting to some. Hardye steps into Greek Tragedy when the unwitting and churlish actions of our young protagonist, Bathsheba Everdene, result in a love tryst between three suitors with tragic consequenses.
The book is essentially a journey for Bathsheba into womanhood not unlike the journey that Scarlett O‘Hara makes in Gone with the Wind who also has to overcome great tragedy in order to realise her own strength. Unlike this heroin, however, Bathsheba is more the instrument of chaos and indecion and part of her journey is that she accepts what she has caused and tries to make.
Hardye avoids making this into moral stricture but deviates from the Greek Tragedy model by giving us a happy ending not atypical of 19C serialised fiction.
Quite often an author‘s voice creeps into their writing and the reader becomes aware that they are not in fact walking the hills and dales of fictional Wessex but are at the pen nib of a writ

How i have changed！
My life at weekends has changed a l ot since last year. In the past i had to get up at six at weekends. After breakfast i hurried to school. it was always busy my lessons——four lessons inthe morning and four in tne afternoon. But now i don"t have to go to school, of cuorse i neen"d get up so early. I can do what i like. For example, i can go out for a picnic with my friends, or play baketball. In the evening, i used to do my homework or go over my lessons, but now i can watch TV, surf the internet or do some reading, and so on. Having really struggled with Dickens and resorted to audio I had wrongly assumed that all 19C liturature was the same. How wrong I could be. From the first paragraph where the opening character farmer Gabriel Oak is desribed smiling, ‘the corners of his mouth spread till they were an unimportant distance from his ears‘ I fell in love with Hardy‘s narrative. His ability to use words that lift the description off the page and into the reader‘s imagination are not just outstanding but incredibly enjoyable. I went into this book blindly, knowing little about the plot that lay ahead or even the genre. It has been described by some as romantic fiction. But I think this is too simplistic a title and and maybe slightly off-putting to some. Hardye steps into Greek Tragedy when the unwitting and churlish actions of our young protagonist, Bathsheba Everdene, result in a love tryst between three suitors with tragic consequenses. The book is essentially a journey for Bathsheba into womanhood not unlike the journey that Scarlett O‘Hara makes in Gone with the Wind who also has to overcome great tragedy in order to realise her own strength. Unlike this heroin, however, Bathsheba is more the instrument of chaos and indecion and part of her journey is that she accepts what she has caused and tries to make it right. Hardye avoids making this into moral stricture but deviates from the Greek Tragedy model by giving us a happy ending not atypical of 19C serialised fiction. When money ran short, he used his powers to turn to burglary again, which attracted the attention of local police officer Mr.Bobby Jaffers. Confronted in the Coach and Horses public house, a scuffle ensued, during which his secret was uncovered (quite literally). Griffin fled into the night. Naked and hunted, he enlisted the aid of tramp Mr.Thomas Marvel, who he sent to retrieve clothes and his notebooks. When some of the villagers attempted to detain Marvel, the Invisible Man displayed a violent side, ing to his ally"s aid with an unmatched fury. Afterwards he berated Marvel, making it clear that if Marvel failed him again, or attempted to flee, then he would die. In spite of this dire warning, Marvel did eventually flee, realising the Invisible Man"s psychosis was growing. The Invisible Man soon caught up with Marvel in the town of Port Burdock, and beat him within an inch of his life before witnesses intervened, one of whom managed to shoot Griffin, winging him. The wounded Invisible Man stumbled into the house of Dr.Kemp, who by chance he knew as a fellow alumni of University College. He appealed to Kemp for aid, who acquiesced. However it soon became clear to Kemp that Griffin was being increasingly insane. He told Kemp of his origins, and his plan to use his invisibility to engage in a "Reign of Terror", using fear of his unseen approach and the threat of invisible murder to take control of a town of his choice. But Kemp had sent a message to Colonel Adye, the chief of the Burdock police, who arrived in time to save Kemp from murder at the hands of his guest. Kemp told Adye how to hunt his prey, with dogs and with powdered glass on the roads to cut his feet. Hunted and pursued, the fugitive apparently mitted his first deliberate murder, slaying Mr. Wicksteed on the edge of a gravel pit. Emboldened by this, Griffin sent a letter to Kemp, declaring himself the new ruler of the area, Invisible Man the First, and stating that he would make an example of Kemp by killing him to prove that none could stand against him. Even though the police immediately put Kemp under guard, the Invisible Man got passed them, murdering Adye with his own revolver in the process. Kemp fled the house, with Griffin in close pursuit. The tables turned when Kemp ran into a group of navvies, who managed to trap their unseen opponent, and beat him to death. With his demise, Griffin once again became visible. One visible and able to live a normal life, one invisible: one raging and fearless, one fearful: one pursuing, one pursued: one clothed, one naked: one loved and respected in the munity, one feared and hunted by everyone, you get the picture. Griffon dies at the end. For some unexplained reason he begins to re-appear upon his death. There are several glaring discrepancies and overlooked things in the book, such as: Why didn"t he make invisible cloths out of the invisible cloth? But we can five Mr. Wells. He has, after all, written some of the best known si-fi stories of all time. I find it interesting that the lead character is named Griffon. I"m sure it has some meaning. A griffon is a hybrid animal part lion and part eagle. Perhaps this is a symbol of the dual nature of man. The lion and eagle (cat and bird) are natural enemies. You would think they would not get along very well. But in the case of a griffon you have a unique bo creature that has to learn to deal with its dual and contrary nature. It has been described by some as romantic fiction. But I think this is too simplistic a title and and maybe slightly off-putting to some. Puts Big Brother and the current spate of docu-soaps firmly into perspective Truman Burbank (Carrey) is a happily married insurance salesman living a normal life in a small American town so perfect that he has never felt the need or desire to leave it. He has a loving wife (Linney), and a loyal best buddy (Emmerich). Life is good until one morning a stage light drops from the skies and shatters on the ground perilously close to him. It is the trigger that sets him questioning everything around him. What is behind the facades of the buildings he has never entered? Why do people seem to be travelling around him in a perfectly synchronized loop? What is going on outside his home-town? Truman is, it turns out, the unwitting star of a top-rated 24-hour-a-day TV docu-soap. Under the careful critical scrutiny to which it has been subjected, the plot turns out not to be watertight. This is to miss the point of what is a hilarious and breathtakingly conceived satire which also allows Carrey to edge away from broad comedy. The Truman Show is also oddly moving and has, as you would expect from a Weir film, a pronounced metaphysical slant with Ed Harris playing the show"s archly named producer/creator Christof.
