(DPCM), 自适应插值PCM(ADPCM),与自适应DM(ADM)等。在程控数字交换机系统中，除个别的应用外，基本采用PCM数字化方法。PCM 主要包括抽样，量化，与编码三种功能单元。首先，模拟话音经防混叠低通滤波得到限带(300-3400HZ)的话路信号，将其抽样变成脉冲调幅(PAM) 信号。根据抽样定理，只要抽样频率fs不低于模拟信号最高频率fm的2倍，即fs>=2fm,则在接收端能够恢复出原模拟信号。CCITT建议规定 fs=8KHZ。然后将幅度连续的抽样信号用四舍五入的方法量化为有限个采值的量化信号，再经编码，变换成二进制代码。对于电话，CCITT G.711,712建议每抽样值编为8位码，这样共有256个量化级，因而每路模拟话音相应的数字话音相应的数字话音标准数码率为64kb/s.在PCM设备中，各路编码信号，先经时分多路复用，合成的码流再通过信道(或线路)传送到接收端。在接收端先进行信码再生，定时提取及分路，再经数模变换(即PCM解码),还原为PAM抽样保持信号。根据抽样定理，借助低通滤波器便可以从中恢复出模拟话音信号。由上述可知，话音信号在量化的过程中，必然会产生误差(或失真),引起通话时附加量化噪声。对于线性量化情况，量化噪声功率仅与量化间隔大小有关，因而大信号时信噪比高，小信号时信噪比低。为解决线性量化时小信号音质差的问题，在实际中通常采用不均匀分层的办法，让量化特性在小信号时分层密，即量化间隔小，而在大信号时分层疏，即量化间隔大。这样就能在编码位数较少的情况下，得到小信号较高的信噪比，以改善通话质量。为此需要在发送端先将话音信号进行非线性幅度压缩，再进行线性量化与编码，与此对应，在接收端解码后则需对话音信号加以扩张，以补偿因压缩而造成的非线性。在理想情况下，扩张器与压缩特性应是完全互补的。在实际中广泛应用两种对数形式的压缩特性，即A律和μ律，CCITT和欧洲邮电部长会议(CEPT)已对A律压缩特性形成了标准，而CCITT与北美贝尔系统已对μ律压缩特性形成了标准，前者主要用于欧洲，后者主要用于北美和日本，我国采用A律压缩方式。1.5 时分多路复用技术为提高传输信道的利用率，通常采用多路时分复用技术(multiplex)将若干路信息综合于同一信道进行传送。目前常用的复用方式主要有两大类：频分复用(FDM)与时分复用(TDM),它们分别按频率或时间划分信道。对于频分复用，信道的可用频带被分割成若干互不交叠的频段，每路信号的频谱占用其一，以实现多路相加的FDM信号在同一信道中传输。在接收端，借助适当的带通滤波器加解调器与带通滤波器即载波生成器等，用以实现信号频谱的搬移和分割。FDM是一种传统的技术，目前广泛使用于载波电话通信，在程控交换系统中有时也利用用户载波技术进行线对增容。时分复用是将信道按时间加以分割，各路话音抽样信息依一定的次序轮流地占用某一时段(或时隙)，从而实现多路复用。在程控数字交换系统中，为提高传输速率和交换容量，通常采用PCM复用方式。对于PCM基群系统，目前国际上有两种复用制式:30/32路帧结构与24帧结构。我国采用30/32路结构方式，即一帧占125μs,分为32个时隙(TS0-TS31),而只传送30路话音编码信息。
