提起柯达与富士胶片就不由得想起本世纪初以前那两种装交卷的盒子，一个桔黄色，一个深绿色。无论是商店照相器材柜台，还是旅游景点景区，摆放的柯达与富士两种胶卷几乎成为标配。所有人照相时几乎必须选择要么是柯达，要么富士胶卷。然而，谁又能想到这么“不可一世”的企业竟然也无法抵挡住技术革命的浪潮。2012年1月份柯达申请破产保护，以保护该公司进行财务重组。随后柯达就逐渐淡出市场与民众视野。其实，自2005年到2011年底,柯达仅有一年没有亏损；2008年以后，柯达一直严重亏损；2011年,柯达股价跌幅高达88%,市值从1997年2月最高时的310亿美元,降至2011底的21亿美元,十余年间蒸发了99%。2012年1月上旬，柯达即将破产的消息传出后,柯达股价平均收盘价已连续30日跌破1美元,柯达公司收到纽交所的警告——如果柯达的股价在未来6个月内仍无起色,将有摘牌、退市的危险。最终也没有挽回柯达的命运。柯达倒下震惊全球，其原因众说纷纭。比较一致的看法是，柯达固守胶片老大地位的包袱沉重，虽然自己发明了数码照相技术，却没有一如既往在应用上下足工夫，最终被行业将优势夺走。最具讽刺的是，柯达是自己打败了自己。正是柯达于1975年发明了数码相机，但这家企业却依然错过了这一领域的发展。在其鼎盛时期，柯达拥有世界上最具创新性的研发部门，企业拥有专利就高达几千项。然而，柯达公司却没有很好把创新转化成生产力和自己公司的利润效益，反而被自己发明的世界数码相机所打败。暴露出柯达在新技术革命扑面而来时反应迟钝，固守落后观念与技术，转型过慢，最终走向令全球扼腕叹息之路。当然，柯达也曾经探索转型，甚至是跨界转型，比如柯达在上世纪80年代和90年代经营起化学制品、浴室清洁剂和药检设备，但都没有挽救自己的命运。笔者认为，一个原因是柯达在自己传统业务最鼎盛时代开始跨界经营转型，没有背水一战或者说置之死地而后生的决心。这种转型注定是“放羊拾柴火”，捎带而已。不过，与柯达比肩的另一个胶片巨头的富士胶片，同样遇到数码技术的巨大冲击，不仅活下来了，而且活得非常之好。原先同质化很强的两大公司为何命运差距如此之大呢？前面分析了柯达的失败，我们再来看看富士的成功。2000年左右，受数码技术的冲击，整个胶片行业陷入被倾覆危机。虽然与柯达一样都在转型，但富士得以重生，柯达轰然倒下。富士转型做得快、做得早，行动决断迅速，而且是背水一战、壮士断腕，彻底抛弃历史包袱、不留恋过去的技术与辉煌，彻底向医药产品进军、推出化妆品产品、做高性能材料等，甚至连数码技术市场都不再放为重点。果断、彻底、壮士断腕、与自己辉煌与所谓优势彻底切割，这是面临生死关头富士胶片的转型选择与思想。富士胶片是下决心一定要完完全全彻底进行改革的，下了‘壮士断腕"的决心，来实行彻底的企业改造。这是富士胶片转型成功的关键。当然，对于企业来说，在企业面临重大选择，或者说生死抉择时，有一个智慧、洞察力强、具有超凡的决策能力的掌门人非常关键。富士胶片非常幸运。富士胶片全球总裁兼CEO古森重隆先生就是这样一位。他在挽救富士胶片时起到了决定性作用，更重要的是，虽然已经78岁高龄，但他对新技术新经济的观察与展望超过80后90后。笔者仅仅列举一个令人敬佩的例子。目前工业4.0的互联网、移动互联网、物联网、大数据、云计算、人工智能、传感技术、区块亮、VR、AR、MR等新技术，古森重隆先生有着独到见解。富士胶片在积极拥抱物联网、人工智能等新技术。“在医疗诊断领域，拍X光图看病人的病灶在哪里，原来是医生用肉眼检查分析，现在可以通过人工智能来进行筛选。”“人工智能、互联网等新技术大发展后，对传感器等产品的需求会增加。生产传感器会用到哪些材料，需要哪些元器件，我们有没有可以发挥长处的地方？”为了更好地研究新技术的变化及应用，富士胶片还专门设立了信息技术研究所及创新战略研究所。这种穿透式挖掘新技术商机的思维不能不让人敬佩。就传感技术而言是未来世界万物互联的桥梁、接点、触点，对其市场需求将非常之大，而且精度等高科技要求非常严格。市场空间、潜力前景都非常大。有这样的思维，富士胶片还能走得很远很远！
