关于平等问题，太深层次的理论问题我也不能深究（原因是我正在准备这方面的内容作为硕士论文，暂时给不出什么好的个人分析）。但是，作为一个合格的哲学学生，应该懂得运用各位资源来进行学习。什么是平等？想要了解政治哲学中的平等主义的话，可以点击这Equality (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy) 斯坦福哲学百科全书，词条“平等”。重点段落是第三节《Conceptions of Distributive Equality: Equality of What?》现截取部分关键内容进行介绍，看完后应该就能对“平等”一词有一定的把握了。1.朴素平等观 （Simple Equality）朴素平等观的内容很直白且简单，就是每个人都应该享有相同等级的物质生活水平。但是，这种朴素平等观有着很明显的问题，主要有以下几个方面;(1) 我们缺乏朴素平等观下的合适的衡量标准。什么叫相同等级的物质生活水平？如何对其进行衡量？（2）朴素平等存在时间跨度问题。所谓的相同等级的物质生活水平指的是每个人生命中的某一刻大家是相等的呢还是大家一辈子的总和是相等的？注意这两种趋向可能会产生矛盾的。（3）朴素平等观不利于激励和促进效率，大锅饭的结果这大家都懂的。（4）朴素平等观没有注意到每个人的个体差异与个性，比如你不可能把从事不同种类的工作的人强行工资拉平。（5）只强调这种物质生活水平的平等太狭隘，而且这种只强调结果的平等观考虑问题不周全。比如说一个人因为吃喝嫖赌而败光家产，这纯粹是个人的责任而不是社会不公。（6）朴素平等观会有一种“大一统”（Uniformity）的危险倾向，导致极权。因此，由于这些重大缺陷，基本上没有哪个哲学家会持有这种朴素平等观，Michael Walzer（1983）针对这一问题提出了“复杂平等”（complex equality）的概念，即平等只能限制于具体一些领域和具体一些物质财富的分配上，不能无限扩大化。而当代的政治哲学界，大概有以下几种平等观做主导。2.幸福平等 （Equality of Welfare）这种平等观认为，至少在人们所享受到的幸福方面人人应该是平等的。失业的人，老人要有生活保障来确保他们的生活舒适度，有工作的也要能享受到相应的福利避免过强的生活压力。最终的结果是，每个人在幸福程度上应该是一样的。但是这种平等观面临的最大问题是“奢侈品味”问题（expensive taste argument）比如说有的人住一室三厅的房子就满足的不得了，有的人会住三层楼的大别墅还嫌房子小。那么根据幸福平等观，这两个人是不平等的，因为住一室三厅的人比住别墅的人更幸福，但实际情况是，后者占有的社会资源更多。3.资源平等（Equality of Resources）与幸福平等观相反，资源平等仅仅要求的是一些社会基本资源的分配要平等，比如就业机会，医疗资源，教育资源等等。资源平等是一种分配的平等，因此也要求相应的国家机器对社会资源进行分配。其中最著名的就是罗尔斯（1971）的两条分配正义原则了（具体内容就不介绍了）.除此之外，德沃金（1981）也主张资源平等，但是与罗尔斯不同，德沃金采取的策略是自由竞拍，即通过社会成员共同参与的竞拍，最终每个人都可以获得自己觉得值得资源，这样既照顾到了个体差异，有保证了分配的平等。然而，资源平等的最大对手是“持有正义原则”（justice of holding），持有正义观认为，只要是个人通过正当手段获得的社会资源都属于个人财产，除非本人愿意，否则不得拿出来进行分配。国家也没有分配社会资源的权力。4.平等与责任（Equality and Responsibility）这种观点比以上两个都要更深一步，当幸福平等和资源平等考虑的还主要是物质财富时，责任的平等观开始关注个人决策与选择的层面上来。一般来说，我们认为一个人应该为自己的选择和行为负责，所以在个人行动的后果上，不应该有平等的问题。但是在一个人不能负责任的但会对其产生影响领域，我们应该做到平等，将影响控制在最低。比如一个人无法决定自己及的家庭背景，因此我们需要的是在这个人未来的人生中，将其家庭背景的影响力降到最低，以达到每个人之间的平等。但是这种观点至少有两处值得怀疑，一个是，这种对非个人负责的影响的控制可能需要耗费大量社会资源。比如说有先天遗传病的人群，想要磨平他们与正常人的差距非常困难。同时，它可能又会对曾经有过过错的人太严厉。比如自己一时不慎导致的残疾等情况，责任平等观可能会将这类人排除在外。5.机会平等（Equality of Opportunity ）这个可以说是目前最火热的平等观了。机会平等认为，幸福和资源本身如何分配并不重要，重要的是每个人去获得幸福以及资源的机会应该是平等的。每个人具体能获得多少幸福和社会资源事在人为，但是，至少得给每个人机会去获得（opportunities to access）。教育机会，工作机会以及商家对于商品的出售都应该是面向全社会开放，不得排除任意一类人群。但是，针对机会平等观的一种反驳思路是，机会平等可能也面临朴素平等所面临的时间跨度问题。究竟是人生中某些重要节点的机会应该平等还是一生中的机会都应该平等呢？前者可能导致最后达不到平等的效果，后者则有可能会忽视一两个时间点的机会的重要性。6 能力平等（Capabilities Approaches）这种观点更加看重人的能动性。因为之前的所有观点都把重点放在了分配上，不管分配的是福利，资源还是机会。但是能力平等则看中的是人自己去达成某事的能力（capabilities to achieve functionings），去成为自己生命的主宰的能力。著名女哲学家Martha Nussbaum （1992）就提出过一种亚里士多德式的能力观，并主张平等应该是每个人都有能力去达成一个好的生活。这种观点既保障了个体多样性，同时也有弥补到平等与自由两个概念之间的间隙。但是这种观点也有一些奉献，比如如何定义“好的生活”？似乎决定权不完全在个人的手上。因此能力平等显得在价值论上不够中立。
