Spring Festival is the most grand traditional festival among Chinese people. It is a folk festival integrating blessing, disaster fighting, celebration, entertainment and diet.春节是中国民间最隆重盛大的传统节日，是集祈福攘灾、欢庆娱乐和饮食为一体的民俗大节。The Spring Festival has a long history, which evolved from the worship of praying at the beginning of the year in ancient times. 两者都是指中国新年，意义相同，但是还是有一些区别。1.春节 spring festival 是中国人自己翻译，外国人普遍不知道，外国人大多数都只知道Chinese New Year.所以当你给不了解中国节日的外国人说Spring Festival的时候，他们没什么概念。2.相对于spring festival ，西方人承认Chinese New Year比较多的原因是这是按照中国历法来计算的新年，直接意译，好记，和西方人的New Year 正好区别开。3.Spring festival在有些西方人的眼中，是为了庆祝春天的到来而设立的节日。他们将中国等同于东方，中国的不少节日，也时常被认为是东方的节日。Spring festival在中国及中国周边的儒家文化圈里，很多人都过。Chinese New Year则跟春天无关，是西方人眼里地道的中国新年节。类似于西方人的元旦。
