何不食肉糜这句话出自《晋书·惠帝纪》：帝曰：“何不食肉糜？”其蒙蔽皆此类也。晋惠帝司马衷是晋武帝司马炎嫡次子，母亲是武元皇后杨艳。关于何不食肉糜这句话有这样的一个故事，由于晋惠帝一直生活在皇宫当中，根本不知道百姓疾苦，对于很多东西都没有认知。有一年在某个地方发生了饥荒，很多老百姓在吃完粮食之后，只能靠吃草跟树皮维持生计。有不少人连树皮都没得吃，因此饿死了不少人。当晋惠帝得知这件事情后直接反问大臣，这些人没有粮食吃为什么不吃肉，何不食肉糜这句话也因此流传开来。

日本是世界第一动漫强国。其动画发展的模式具有鲜明的民族特色。比如漫画里近乎逼真的亚洲人的美和各种鲜明特色的文化影子。这些都是其他国家动漫望尘莫及的。动漫是日本的第一产业链，在全球没有国家可超越。日本动画的发展过程大致可分为4个阶段：1917—1945——萌芽期、1946—1973——探索期、1974—1989——成熟期、1990至今——细化期。1917—1945——萌芽期1917年，下川凹夫摄制《芋川掠三玄关·一番之卷》，北山清太郎制作了《猿蟹合战》，幸内纯一创作了《锅凹内名刁》，此三人为日本动画的奠基人。其中，下川凹夫创作的《芋川掠三玄关·一番之卷》被公认为日本的第一部动画片。1933年，日本第一部有声动画片《力与世间女子》诞生了，它是由政冈宪三和其学生懒尾光世制作完成的。二战期间，懒尾光世拍摄了“桃太郎”系列动画片，鼓吹侵略，美化夸耀日本军国主义，其中的代表作是1944年制作的《桃太郎·海上神兵》。1946—1973——探索期1945年，日本战败后，反战题材的动画影片颇受欢迎且影响深远，期间的代表人物是被日本动画界誉为“怪人”的动画大师——大藤信郎，他于1927年拍摄了黑白版的《鲸鱼》，并于1952年摄制完成了彩色版的《鲸鱼》，该部动画片成为首部获得国际大奖的日本动画片。大藤信郎把流传在中国数千年的皮影戏和日本独有的千代纸结合起来绘制动画。大藤信郎在日本知名度极高，以他的名字命名的“大藤奖”更成为日本一流的动画片奖项。1974—1989——成熟期1974年，日本动画进入了成熟期。70年代初期，日本涌现出大批科幻机械类动画（即Science Fiction动画，简称SF类动画）的动画大师，代表人物有松本零士、富野由悠季、河森正治、美树本晴彦等。其中最著名的富野由悠季是“GUNDAM”系列的创始人之一，他执导了《机动战士GUNDAM》（1979年）等SF类动画电影。1982年，河森正治在为《超时空要塞Macross》担当机械设定时，开始崭露头角，随后他出任导演监制了《超时空要塞》的系列剧场版动画影片。鲁邦三世，也在70年代成功转型向少年化，取得了巨大成就，TV2系列更是真正使日本观众把动画与漫画结合，开创了动漫时代，取得了从学生至成人们的一致好评，八九十年代也成功的海外进出。据统计拥有惊人的13.5亿人的粉丝，至今已有43年历史并仍在放送中。同期的宫崎骏摆脱了SF类动画风格的局限，以剧场版动画为契点，走出了一条“宫崎骏式”的唯美、自然、清新的风格，传达着天、地、人、神的和谐。影片的思想触及人类心灵的深处，启发着人对神的敬畏，对生命的思考。1984年的《风之谷》奠定了宫崎骏日本动画宗师的地位。2001年宫崎骏摄制的《千与千寻》获得第52届柏林国际电影节金熊大奖和第75届奥斯卡最佳动画长片奖。宫崎骏在日本已成为动画的代名词，其成就与地位无人能及。1990至今——细化期在20世纪90年代，日本动画产业的进一步完善，日本动画的种类、形式、内容、题材以及从业人员发生了明显的细化。随着动画风格的多样性，日本动画进入细化阶段。在这一期间，日本动画的种类丰富多样。有以浅香守生为代表的美少女动画，作品有《魔卡少女樱》（1998年）、《Chobits》（2002年）、《GALAXY ANGEL》（第一部：2001年；第二部：2002年）；有以大地丙太郎为代表的搞笑动画，作品有《邪流丸》（1998年）、《水果篮子》（2000年）；另外，押井守创作的《攻壳机动队》（1995年），自成一种风格，以得到观众的认可；今敏创作的《千年女优》（2002年），采用了扑朔迷离的叙事手法，探索了一种全新的动画表达方式。总之，日本动画以“机器人”、“美少女”为契点，走出了一条独特的深具自身民族特色的动画之路。发展阶段：“二战”后的半个多世纪以来，漫画在日本的社会地位及人们对它的认识在不断变化。手冢治虫把日本现代漫画发展划分为六个阶段。第一阶段（二战后的头十年）：“玩具时代”，漫画只是供孩子娱乐的道具。第二阶段：“清除时代”，漫画被视为低俗浅薄的读物。第三阶段：“点心时代“，父母和教师勉强允许孩子可以在不妨碍学习的条件下看一点漫画。第四阶段：“主食时代”，1963年TV动画《铁臂阿童木》在电视上连续放映，许多家庭中的大人和孩子一起观看，漫画得到社会肯定。第五阶段（二十世纪70~80年代中期）：“空气时代”，漫画已经成为青少年生活中不可分割的一部分。第六阶段（二十世纪80年代中期以后）：“记号时代”，漫画成为青少年之间相互沟通的记号。
