You"re a Beautiful Person美丽是你

Welcome to Faith Radio Online-Simply to Relax, I"m Faith. I wish that I could tell every person that I meet that he or she is a beautiful person--and have them believe it. I wish I could look them in the eyes and tell them of their beauty and have them accept the words for what they truly are--the truth, plain and simple.

You and I both know that most people will deny their beauty, expressing what they feel is modesty or humility. It"s easier for us to be told that we"re talented or intelligent--our own beauty is something that we don"t want to face.

You could help me to convince people of their innate beauty. You could agree with me in an effort to reinforce the message. You could give a few specifics to illustrate just what we"re talking about when we say the person is beautiful. You could reassure the person that I"m not saying it to flatter or to try to win the person over or get something out of the person, but just trying to express in words the beauty I see when I look into that person"s eyes and see the human being there, the person who gets happy and hurt and who laughs and who cries.

You can help me by reminding the person that beauty isn"t about comparing ourselves with others, but about the part of us that shines when we love others and love life. It"s not all physical and it"s not all spiritual, but a tender combination of all that we are.

This is Faith at Faith Radio Online-Simply to relax. Now, I"m telling you: You are a beautiful person!

Doe 17) while others believe that APA is a superior style guide (B. Doe 9).J. Doe believes that MLA citations are the most practical (17) but B. Doe argues that APA is a superior style guide (9).5、当同一个作者的两篇文献被引用时需注明标题。 According to Smith, in-text citations are simple enough (“MLA In-Text Citations” 92) but the “Works Cited” page can get complicated depending on the “variety and particular types of sources used in a given paper” (The Fun of MLA 13).6、在括号内用分号分隔多个引用。 The rules of MLA citations have been discussed by many (Smith 16; Doe 32).7、要了解如何标注间接引用。 Doe notes that "in-text citations are fairly easy to write" (qtd. in Smith 102).

Do you envy (羡慕) people who have a good memory? They only have to spend a few minutes on a page and will remember the content. There are some things you can do to improve your memory. Try these.Be more observant (观察敏锐的). Some people who claim to have a bad memory don"t really have memory problems. They just don"t take time to notice the details.

怎样和老板谈绩效考核   When you walk into your boss" office for your performance review, you need a game plan. Documenting your accomplishments is a good starting point. But just as important, you need to know how to come out of the meeting with the information you need.   当你走进老板办公室谈论绩效考核时,你需要准备好策略。展示你的成绩会开个好头。但是同样重要地是,你需要知道如何从考核中获得需要的信息。   Experts offer these tips for handling this sometimes tricky conversation:   下面是专家们提供的建议,用于应对这种有时难以处理的谈话:   * Ask questions.提问   Always press for details, says Gail Ginder, an executive coach with the Claros Group.   来自Claros 集团的执行教练Gail Ginder说,永远都要努力去获得细节。   If your boss says you"re doing a great job, this could mean you"re about to be promoted. It could also mean that your performance is just OK, but your boss didn"t want to take the time to do a more thoughtful review. To find out which is the case, ask for details. What aspects of your performance stand out to your boss?   如果老板说你做的很好,这也许意味着你将要被提拔,也可能意味着你的表现一般,但是你的老板不愿意花时间来进行更仔细的评估。要知道到底是哪种情况,问一问细节。老板觉得你哪方面表现突出?   Asking questions becomes even more important when the review is negative. "Often feedback is given without specifics," Ginder said. "Ask for specific examples of times when your performance didn"t meet expectations. Then ask, "And what would great performance have looked like? What would you have wanted me to do in that situation?""   如果评价消极的话,提问就更为重要了。Ginder说:“往往评价反馈中没有细节。要问具体什么时候你的表现没有达到期望。然后问‘好的表现是怎样的?在那种情况下你希望我怎么做?"”   * Tell your story. 讲讲自己的理解   If you disagree with your boss" assessment of your performance, ask if you can tell your side of the story.   如果你不同意老板对你表现的评价,问一问能否谈谈你自己的理解。   "Say, "I have a different perspective on this situation. Would you like to hear it?"" Ginder said. Make sure your tone of voice is not defensive. "You want to make your boss curious," not annoyed, about what you have to say. Then explain, calmly, why you didn"t make the choice your boss now says you should have.   Ginder说:“可以这样说‘我对这个情况看法不一样。你想听听吗?"”不要带着自卫的语气。 “你是想让让老板(对你要说的)感到好奇”,而不是生气。然后,镇定地解释为什么没做出老板认为本该做出的"表现。   Don"t feel you need to give an explanation like this in every case, though. "It"s perfectly fine to say, "I hadn"t looked at it that way. I"d like to try that next time,"" Ginder said.   但不要认为你需要解释每件事。Ginder说:“完全可以说,‘我不是这么看。下次再试试看。"”   * Play it by ear. 见机行事   It"s generally a good idea to discuss your future with your boss at your review. But if you"re blindsided by criticism of your performance, it may be better to save that for another day. 通常在考核面谈中和老板讨论你的未来是一个好主意。但是如果没料到遭到的是批评,那么也许最好留到以后再谈。   "Only have the big-picture discussion about where you want your career to go if your review is going well," said Janet Scarborough Civitelli, founder and president of Bridgeway Career Development. Bridgeway Career Development创始人、主席Janet Scarborough Civitelli说:“只有在你考核顺利时,才该讨论关于职业方向的大局。”   * Don"t sweat the small stuff. 不要面面俱到   You don"t have to explain or discuss every minor improvement your boss thinks you could make. 不需解释或讨论老板认为你该做出的每一个微小改善。   The key is to know when the issue is something that could put your job or promotion prospects at risk. Once again, the best way to find out is to ask. 关键是知道哪些情况下某件事情会危及你的工作或提拔。同样地,最好的方法就是询问。   Ginder suggests saying to your boss, ""I need a little perspective here. How serious is this?"" Ginder建议人们对老板说:“我需要了解具体情况,这有多重要?”   * Follow up. 事后跟进   If you are surprised by a negative review and want some time to reflect before discussing it, ask your boss for more time. "Your boss knew it was coming," Civitelli said. "You may have to say, "I need some time to think about these things."" 如果业绩考核的负面评价让你感到惊讶,想在讨论之前有段时间反省的话,那就要求老板给你更多的时间。Civitelli说:“你的老板早会料到会出现这个情况。你也许得说‘我需要一些时间考虑这些事情。"”   If your boss wants you to improve your performance, ask if you can talk again in a few weeks to see if you"re succeeding. 如果你的老板希望你改善工作表现,那么问一问能否几周后再谈谈,看看到那时你的工作表现是否有所改善。   In some cases, if your review is very negative and you feel it"s unfair, you may want to ask if there"s a way to avoid having the review made part of your permanent record until you have had a chance to rectify the situation. 有些时候,如果你的考核评价很糟糕,你感觉不公平,你可能会想问问能否有机会来改善情况,能否不让它计入永久工作业绩记录。 ;

Business emails are a pillar of modern communication. On any given day, the average office worker receives over 80 emails.That"s a lot of communication.While we send a lot of emails, many of them are not effective. Everyone"s inbox holds those difficult to read or process emails, hanging around because the recipient is unclear on how to reply or act. Don"t let that happen to your business emails. Etiquette, style, and format are essential to writing emails that get results.This article will highlight best practices and walk you through an effective business email, step-by-step. By integrating these methods into your email preparation, you will write better emails and improve overall communication.Four Key Questions:There are four questions that you must consider as you begin to draft a business email:1. Who is My Audience?In all business writing, the audience is the top consideration. Who you are writing for will determine how you write your email. The reader will determine the tone, formality, and content of the communication.Your email"s reader may be your colleague, client, or supervisor. Each reader will have a different background, project knowledge, and priorities. You can use project acronyms with a colleague who has the same deep project knowledge as you do. Those same acronyms will be confusing to an executive who needs an update for budget forecasting.With your audience at the forefront, you will always write a more effective email.The audience includes all the people included in the sender fields. This includes the To:, CC:. and BCC: fields but main focus should be on those in the To field. Writing for the audience also means using these fields correctly.The ‘To:" field is for the direct audience who needs to reply or take action from the email content. The ‘CC:" field is for readers who need to receive the email conversation for reference or clarity, but do not need to take action nor reply. The ‘BCC:" field is for the audience who only needs to see the initial email and none of the later chain of replies.Incorrect usage of the sender fields is a common business email mistake. It occurs when the audience and their roles are not thoughtfully considered.Use the Bcc field very judiciously. Often it"s best to forward an email separately, with a brief statement on why you"re sending this information.2. What is the Purpose?An email must have a purpose. And it must have only one purpose.This email practice is called the ‘one thing rule".Each email should cover only one specific item, task, or request. Covering multiple actions in one email can cause confusion and inefficiency. One email should not include both client report revision notes and a scheduling question for the quarterly meeting. This scenario calls for two separate emails.By limiting emails to one thing, the email is easier for the recipient to understand, process and act upon. This clarity increases understanding and productivity.In practice, we sometimes have to ask for several pieces of information related to the same topic. In this case, use a numbered list to clarify for your reader that the request has components. This will help your reader respond easily and ensure you receive all the specifics you need.I need you to review these three items before we release the sketch to the production team:1. Content2. Design3. Color choice3. Is This Email Necessary?There is a tendency to over-communicate by email. While email is efficient and provides an electronic paper-trail, not all communication should occur over email.Ask yourself: “Is this email really necessary?” Perhaps a quick phone call or a ping on the company messenger is more appropriate. If you"re expecting a lot of back-and-forth on the topic, a short conversation can eliminate a lengthy email chain.Choose the right channel to send information. Email is great, but it"s one channel.4. Is Email Appropriate?Email can be used in many scenarios but is not always appropriate.If you are delivering bad news, do so in person or buffer the email thoughtfully. An email is impersonal and is difficult to convey empathy or compassion.Sensitive information sent by email runs the risk of being accidentally shared. There are plenty of cases of email mishaps, ranging from funny to serious. Whether the information is personal contact or personal opinion, consider whether it"s appropriate for an email. If you wouldn"t want it accidentally shared, be very thoughtful about how it is sent in the first place.If you are unsure if an email is appropriate, ask yourself if you"d be comfortable with that email being projected in a meeting. Attending the meeting are your boss, all your future bosses, and your mother. If it passes this test, then send it. If not, there is likely something that is not appropriate.Email StyleBusiness emails have a very specific style. They are professional but brief. They should be written to be skimmed, but with enough information to allow a complete response.If you like this article you may be interested in our online email writing course.ToneFinding the correct tone can be the biggest headache in drafting an email. The tone changes based on your audience. It can range to formal to friendly but is always professional and should always be matched to your audience.Wordy politeness can often be overlooked in efforts to be brief in emails. However, please and thank you should be included anytime it is appropriate.Avoid ALL CAPS because it SOUNDS LIKE YOU"RE YELLING (and could route your email to the spam folder). If you wouldn"t shout the statement in person, don"t shout it in an email. Instead, use italics, underlining or bold to emphasize important points.Example: Vacation requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance.Notice the harsh tone if the bold text is swapped for caps: Vacation requests must be submitted AT LEAST TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE. One exception: Do use all caps in email headings when writing to any organization that strips html formatting from email. The military, military academies, and some financial institutions with strict security protocols often strip html formatting. Headings are very helpful to readers. They allow a reader to skim and find information easily. They"re a business writer"s best weapon against information overload.Avoid excessive use of punctuation or emojis. Exclamation points should be used sparingly! Emojis continue to have a larger role in digital communication and several style guides have approved their judicious use in business writing. I follow the rule of only using them after the other party has sent one. They should never be used in formal business emails. https://www.onmogu.comcontinue ... ...

Why It"s OK to Ditch Work Social Events 为什么我们可以不参加工作中的社交活动 Maybe this is the case at your pany. Or maybe you"re looking to make friends in a new role and every time you miss an event you"re convinced that you"re losing a prime opportunity to lock those relationships down. But you shouldn"t ever feel like you have to make friends at the office or attend work social events at any cost. 但你不该觉得自己必须要在办公室交朋友,或者要不惜一切代价参加社交活动。 Sure you could keep dragging yourself to events that you have no real interest in but keeping this charade up is exhausting and not always productive. As long as you"re happy with the rest of your job you feel respected your ideas are heard you enjoy the work you"re doing—it"s OK to let this one thing go. Whether you"re three months or three Years in introverted or extroverted looking to make friends or not socializing with your co-workers should be something you choose to do. Having a good relationship with the people you work with is important for clear munication productivity and overall job satisfaction but that relationship can simply be an in-the-office professional kind. 无论你入职三个月还是三年,内向或外向,想不想要交朋友,与同事交往应该是你可以选择的事情。与合作伙伴建立良好的关系对清晰的沟通、生产力的提高和整体工作的满意度非常重要,但这种关系可以简化成一种工作上的、专业上的关系。 Yes there are times when activities will be heavily encouraged if not mandatory like offsites retreats or neorking events. And in these moments you"re maybe sacrificing more than just social status by not participating—you"re missing out on a chance to get to know your colleagues build a stronger team or even do your job well. But most panies ultimately won"t force you to do something you truly don"t feel fortable doing. 是的,有时候人们会被鼓励参加一些活动,如果不是强制性的,比如扩展活动、团建度假或社交活动。这时候,你不参加,除了丧失社会地位之外 - 错还过了一个了解同事、建设一个更强团队、甚至做好本职工作的机会。但多数公司最终都不会强迫你去做确实觉得不舒服的事情。 More importantly the best bosses and co-workers (and work friends) understand that certain things e first whether it"s family or hobbies or personal preferences. Chances are there have also been plenty of instances when they"ve had to miss out on a team activity because something else was more important. 更重要的是,最好的老板和同事(以及工作上的朋友)明白有些事情更重要,无论是家庭,爱好还是个人偏好。可能有很多情况,他们不得不放弃参加团队活动,因为有其他更重要的事情。 How to Get Out of Your Next Work Social Event 如何摆脱下一个工作社交活动 Here"s the thing: I"m all too familiar with the difference beeen knowing you"re allowed to say “no” to work social events and actually having to break the news to your co-workers that you"re going to skip one. 重点来了:我很了解两种情形的区别。一种是你有权对社交活动说“不”,另一种是你要委婉地跟你的同事解释这次活动参加不了。 Sometimes peer pressure sets in and guilts you into attending and you"re stuck doing something you really don"t want to do. While I can"t guarantee that won"t happen—some people might just continue to pester you or nag you about being a recluse—know that you can dodge their invites respectfully while still keeping the relationships intact. 有时候,来自同伴的压力会让你觉得不参加有负罪感,并且你会陷入窘境,去做一件真心不想做的事情。我不能保证不会有这种情况——有些人可能会继续缠着你或不停地唠叨不参加集体活动有多不好。而你要知道的是,你既可以礼貌地谢绝对方的邀请,又能不伤感情。 The key in any rejection is to not make it personal. Instead focus on your decision and why you can"t or won"t join this time. For example you can say “Sounds like fun! Unfortunately something"s e up: [family emergency or conflict]. Pencil me in for the next one?” or “You know I love hanging with you all but if I"m being pletely honest [activity] isn"t my thing. I hope you have a blast though!” Or you can just skip the specifics thank them and politely decline: “Thanks for inviting me! I can"t make it but have a great time!” or “Appreciate you including me but I already have plans.” In most cases they"ll accept your rejection and move on.
