信用证的种类有跟单信用、证光票信用证、可撤销信用证、不可撤销信用证、保兑信用证、即期信用、证远期信用证等十四种信用证的类型。信用证是开证银行根据申请方的需求向收益方开出具有一定金额，并可以在一定期限内凭符合规定的单据付款的局面保证文件，信用证的作用是十分大的，我们都要保管好信用证。常见信用证有以下种类：(一)跟单信用证（DOCUMENTARY CREDIT）：是凭跟单汇票或仅凭单据付款的信用证。国际贸易结算中所使用的信用证绝大部分是跟单信用证。(二)光票信用证：是凭不附带单据的汇票付款的信用证。(三)可撤销（REVOCABLE）信用证：是指开证行对所开信用证不必征得受益人同意有权随时撤销的信用证。(四)不可撤销（IRREVOCABLE）信用证：是指信用证一经开出，在有效期内，非经信用证各有关当事人的同意，开证行不能片面修改或撤销的信用证。此种信用证在国际贸易中使用多。(五)保兑（CONFIRMED）信用证：是指经开证行以外的另一家银行加具保兑的信用证。保兑信用证主要是受益人（出口商）对开证银行的资信不了解，对开证银行的国家政局、外汇管制过于担心，怕收不回货款而要求加具保兑的要求，从而使货款的回收得到了双重保障。(六)即期信用证：是开证行或付款行收到符合信用证条款的汇票和单据后，立即履行付款义务的信用证。(七)远期信用证：是开证行或付款行收到符合信用证的单据时，不立即付款，而是等到汇票到期履行付款义务的信用证。(八)红条款信用证（RED CLAUSE）信用证：是允许出口商在装货交单前可以支取全部或部分货款的信用证。开证行在信用证上加列上述条款，通常用红字打成，故此种信用证称“红条款信用证”.(九)付款（PAYMENT）、承兑（ACCEPTING）、议付（NEGOTIATING）信用证：信用证应表明其结算方法是采用即期或延期付款、承况或议付来使用信用证金额。(十)可转让（TRANSFERABLE）信用证：是指开证行授权通知行在受益人的要求下，可将信用证的全部或一部分转让给第三者，即第二受益人的信用证。可转让信用证只能转让一次，信用证转让后，即由第二受益人办理交货，但原证的受益人，即第一受益人，仍须负责买卖合同上卖方的责任。如果信用证上允许可以分装，信用证可分别转让给几个第二受益人，这种转让可看成一次转让。不可转让信用证是指受益人不能将信用证的权利转让给他人的信用证。(十一)背对背（BACK-TO-BACK）信用证：是受益人要求通知行在原有的信用证基础上，开立一个新的信用证，主要两国不能直接进行贸易时，通过第三方来进行贸易。背对背信用证和可转证信用证都产生于中间交易，为中间商人提供便利。(十二)对开信用证：双方互为进口方和出口方，互为对开信用证的申请人和受益人。为实现双方货款之间的平衡，采用互相开立信用证的办法，把出口和进口联系起来。第一张信用证的受益人就是第二张信用证（也称回头证）的开证申请人；第一张信用证的开证申请人就是回头证的受益人。第一张信用证的通知行，常常就是回头证的开证行，两证的金额约略相等。(十三)循环（REVOLVING）信用证：循环信用证即可多次循环使用之信用证，当信用证金额被全部或部分使用完后，仍又恢复到原金额。买卖双方订立长期合同，分批交货，进口方为了节省开证手续和费用，即可开立循环信用证。循环信用证可分为按时间循环的信用证和按金额循环的信用证两种。(十四)部分信用证部分托收：一笔交易合同有时可能包括两种不同的支付方式，如部分信用证方式、部分托收方式。即一部分货款，如果80%由进口商开立信用证，其余20%由出口方在货物装运后，同信用证项下的装船单据，一并委托信用证的议付行通过开证行向进口商托收。信用证部分货款和托收部分货款，要分别开立汇票，全套装船单据附于信用证项下的汇票，托收项下的为光票。法律依据：《国内信用证结算办法》第二条本办法所称国内信用证（以下简称信用证），是指银行（包括政策性银行、商业银行、农村合作银行、村镇银行和农村信用社）依照申请人的申请开立的、对相符交单予以付款的承诺。前款规定的信用证是以人民币计价、不可撤销的跟单信用证。
