这部剧让我找回了童年时每逢周末晚九点半就打开TVB明珠台看复古恐怖片的感觉，就凭这一点就足以打十分。 由众多八九十年代流行文化符号堆砌起来的怀旧复古基调非常带感，整个故事一气呵成，别说多处细节向斯蒂芬·金致敬，甚至让我一度怀疑剧本就是斯蒂芬·金的手笔。要说这部剧恐怖、惊悚，的确有这些元素，但是没吓到我。我每晚的追剧行动都是准时在午夜开始，还关灯，全程不静音，片头OP每一集都不快进，一直看到片尾那只比正剧还诡异的挥刀猴子。能知道有这么一部剧对我来说简直是如获至宝。
