一、教师示范法――学生学英语最直观的仿效现在有一种提法,说英语课上要“教师讲得少,学生讲得多”,对此笔者略有一点微议。笔者认为,这种课堂教学只能建立在学生有了一定的语言会话能力的基础上才能作较高要求,可一概要求这种形式教学,特别是对刚踏进中学大门的初中生而言,略欠科学与合理,因为他们还未具备较基础的英语语言会话能力。因此,为了让学生能有较强的语言运用能力,也给英语教师提出了较高的要求,即教师要充分发挥示范作用,熟悉了解英美等国家的语言习惯与会话手势、姿势、面部表情、语调、语气,进入英语角色,让学生耳濡目染,起到潜移默化的作用。二、探求教学方法,变换教学模式,激发学习兴趣,自觉运用英语语言从事英语教学的教师往往觉得学生学不好英语,主要是缺乏一个语言环境。学生学英语仅仅限于英语课堂中,很少表现在课外活动中,因此,对于一些语言的表达,特别是日常用语的表达往往不能得到实际运用。这就要求英语教师积极探求教学方法,变换教学模式,激发学生的会话热情,从而自觉地运用英语语言,为此不妨用下面几种方法来尝试。1.英语对话法即教师与学生,学生与学生利用自身资源在日常生活中养成对话的习惯,把所学的知识自觉主动地运用到生活中去,从而提高运用水平。如,我在教学仁爱版英语七年级上册Unit 4 Topic 1 How much are these pants?(Section A,3a)A:Can I help you?B:Yes,please.I want a sweater.A:What color do you want?B:Blue.A:Here you are.B:How much is it?A:20 dollars.笔者反复让学生操练这个对话,然后,变换实物,让学生分组对话,这样,学生很快在说中掌握了所学的句型,这种方式很有效。因此,作为一个英语教师,首先要树立英语会话意识,在日常生活中尽量与学生用英语交谈,并在交谈中对学生发音与语法错误能给予适当纠正,提倡学生与学生之间尽量用英语交谈,如有不懂表述的内容或查找资料或询问教师,教师应以赞赏的态度加以鼓励,使他们乐学、乐说。2.讲故事法寓讲于乐。实践表明,这是一条很能调动学生讲英语的热情及兴趣的好方法。英语中有很多幽默故事,成为人们所喜闻乐见的故事更是多如牛毛,如果让这些既能给予启迪,又能锻炼学生口语的故事,用英语流利地表述出来,岂不是一件两全其美的事,既避免了那种简单的说教模式,又避免了单调式的朗读训练。当然,如果在表达中教师能在表情、动作上加以指导,使学生声情并茂地进入角色,那效果就更好了。3.虚拟情节法即教师当导演,学生当演员,充当一定的角色,围绕一个话题,虚拟一个情节,让学生进行表演,这样使学生在活泼的氛围中既掌握了该课的重点又培养了交际能力。例如,在学习如何问路,指点方向时,可将教室内组与组之间看作大街,行与行之间看作转弯处,再标上factory,hospital,school等词进行教学,让一学生去学问路,另一学生去指点方向,等到学生表演到一定程度,教师趁热打铁讲解问路的各种表达方式,使整个课堂气氛活跃。4.复述法如果说讲故事,虚拟情节法对一般学生较有难度,那么复述课文故事内容可能对大部分学生较容易些,学生在复述课文的同时,既加深了对课文内容的理解,又锻炼了口才,一举两得,何乐而不为呢?三、形式灵活多样地提高学生的读写能力作为一名英语教师,在实际工作中,我深深地感受到提高初中生读写能力的必要,通过对大纲要求的钻研,我在教学中,尝试先让学生读再让学生写的做法。对于如何提高学生的读写能力,我采用了以下几种方法:1.写日记对于初中生,都有写语文日记的习惯,而且有的写得很好,写得富有真情实感,这是由于他们能根据自己的实际生活与观察体验去写。如果能用英语形式来写日记,同样也会达到这种效果,学生能根据所学知识联系自己的生活实际,从而把学的知识能得到运用。对于初一学生,我对他们提出这样的要求:每天写出一句或两句贴近生活的日常用语,或者一篇小短文。然后教师定期批改,发现错误及时订正,同时对于写得较好的学生进行表扬。采用这种做法,学生干劲十足,同时语言的运用能力也得到了提高。2.书信在日常生活中,虽然现在通讯工具得到普及,但在学生中用书信传递信息,表达学生情谊仍很普遍,如果能充分利用这一资源来提高学生的英语表达能力,从而充分发挥英语作为人类语言之一的交际功能,是一个很理想的渠道。对于书信,我建议学生在给朋友写信时,能多用上几句学过的英语,一能增加信的内容色彩,二能使所学知识得以应用。3.仿写新课程英语有每单元围绕一个话题,以任务式来解决实际问题的特点,是较科学与合理的。教师如果能根据话题的内容让学生仿写成一篇小作文,学生不但能加深对内容的理解,而且能学以致用,提高英语写作水平,学生如果能坚持不懈地去做是大有裨益的。例如,我在教学仁爱版英语七年级下册Unit 8 Topic 1 How is the weather in winter?Section A 2a时,要求学生对句型:“Which season do you like best ?I like...best”“Why do you like...?Because it is...It"s a good season to...”进行反复操练,然后对他们的答句进行仿写,最后串成一篇描写季节的短文,并让学生到讲台上去复述,学生很快就掌握了所学内容,并能学以致用,提高了书面表达能力。四、培养学生多观察、多记录,养成从身边学英语、用英语的习惯随着社会的进步与发展,身边可接触到许多的英语,走到大街上,琳琅瞒目的广告牌,很多都有英语标记。如,“中国邮政:China Post”“中国银行:Bank of China”还有电视里的广告,像“Come on,baby”学生几乎都能脱口而出。我经常利用这些资源,让学生去仔细观察,然后做好记录,并且每月评出优秀手抄人员。因此,学生情绪高昂,课外英语词汇掌握了不少。总之,要提高学生英语听、说、读、写的实际应用能力,教师除要发挥自身的示范作用外,还应讲究方法灵活、富有创造性地改变课堂教学模式,最终达到自觉用英语,准确、流畅地表达出自己的意思,从而发挥英语的交际作用。
