DOTA的最初历史版本有6.32，6.38，6.43，6.48，6.49，6.51，6.52CN2.1、DOTA CLASSICDOTA 全名为Defense of the Ancients,译为守护古树,或者守护遗迹,它是建立在WAR3基础上,利用地图编辑器开发的,全新的电子竞技游戏.DOTA最早只是个别完家自娱自乐的RPG地图,后来经过60多个版本,数年的不断完善,在世界范围内拥有了众多的拥护者.　　DOTA的历史 要从星际争霸时代说起.那时候有人做了一张地图,叫做Aeon of Strife,这就是第一张DOTA类型的地图(5对5单英雄的地图):以后的DOTA正统版本都是在种游戏模式上不断完善的.到了ROC（魔兽争霸3：混乱之治）时期，一位叫做Euls的玩家做了第一张ROC DOTA.在最早的Eul DOTA里,两队都只有总共5只英雄,而且每只都和正规的一模一样.因为WAR3还处在推广阶段,这一时期DOTA并没有大规模的流行起来.于是到了TFT（魔兽争霸3：冰封王座）时期,Euls并没有在TFT做任何的DOTA地图.但是这时候就有许多人,开始在TFT创造类似的地图.◆以下是几个在当时比较有名的版本:Defense of the Ancients v.2.5Valley of Dissent 1.2 by Karukef and MosefDoTA - Stand of the Dwarves Thirst_for_Gamma_v1.0DOTA Darkfall当TFT推出时,Eul撤手不做.坚持只做ROC的DOTA.2.2、DOTA ALLSTARS　　其中的一位作者Guinsoo,在地图中开始加入一些声音和光影效果(这是guinsoo创造allstar的开始).当时有一小些人(非常少 大约只有10人)为DOTA创建了第一个讨论版,叫做"9nid"这就是最早的DOTA半官方性质的论坛.直到现在,还有许多当初最早的成员,名字现在还列在荣誉榜上.随着WAR3的不断推广,DOTA也慢慢变得火热,9nid讨论版登陆人数开始慢慢变多,终于有一天服务器负荷不了.这时讨论版便转到了rtsgames, 所谓的DOTA联盟就在此时成立了.第一个联盟,便是2004年的4月创立的Clan TDA,当时的地图为Allstar5.84 International Gamaing SyndicateIGS开始举办正式的DOTA比赛(唯一官方认证的比赛)第一届锦标赛有20组参加 第二届有45组....于是越来越多人参加(现在总共有1049组) http://leagues.theigs.com/dota/ 这是IGS的官网有兴趣的可以去看看.因为玩家越来越多,地图更新工作量也变庞大.最后Guinsoo开始寻求其他地图制作人帮助(Icefrog便时其中一个)在大约6.00的时候 Pendragon(副族长)因为和族长(Guinsoo)有闹不愉快最后他退出了这个社团,创了他自己伺服.Pendagron他负责所有的管理,他离开后DOTA的官方网站陷入了一段很长的混乱时期.老的工作组这时开始瓦解.最后,guinsoo,neichus,terrorblaze还有许多人做了Allstar6.00,6.01然后便投入了其他的游戏中.（曾经有人在魔兽世界中看到过他的身影）Icefrog从6.02开始接手,直到现在.Icefrog是目前为止,最好的DOTA地图制作人.他不像Guinsoo般,放着大量的BUG不处理,在Icefrog的完善下,现在的地图BUG明显少了.Icefrog也比较容易接纳其他人的意见,现在许人新东西(英雄、道具、系统)，都是讨论版有人提议而被创造出来的.另外Allstar的历史 也可以从他的道具看出一点端倪Eul"s scepter of divinity =Eul的神杖(吹风)Oblivion staff=遗忘之棍(Staff这里也可以翻为工作人员,就是被遗忘的工作人员)Guinsoo"s scythe of vyse =Guinsoo 的Vyse镰刀（羊刀）由此可以发现:当合成Eul"s scpter of divinity+oblivion staff=Guinsoo"s scuthe of vuse也就是eul的神杖+遗忘的工作人员=Guinsoo的武器大家看出他的关系了没?并且在英雄方面也有相关Terrorblade (灵魂守卫)其实就是当初最早的制作员的名字之一.roshan的名字有来与人名(巴基斯坦文),Hrithik Roshan是一个超级巨星,据说作者便是Hrithik Roshan的FANS,但是没有证据可以推论为实.在5.84左右年代曾经出现过隐藏道具.5.84隐藏道具有6样,名字分别为 A,T,O,M 还有2个upgraders当时在大家讨论热烈,努力想查出真相的时候5.84b又出现了！！5.84b不仅包括了这6样道具,有多了一样:名字为"HAHA I am an asshole"(哈哈,我就是个浑蛋)由此可见这是纯属作者的恶作剧.顺带一提:ATOM在这里并不是指原子而是指5大元素,不知道有没有人记得,很久以前,有一个卡通叫做:地球超人.就是当5个主角吧5元素戒指放在一起时，就会召唤出：地球超人，去对付污染地球的敌人.而那地球超人就叫做ATOM -_- ! 2.3、DOTA CHAOS其中世界的各个角落,还存在着不少DOTA家族的小成员.DOTAchoas 便是其中一个.　　当暴雪推出TFT时,Eul却坚持只做基于ROC的DOTA.这时出现了由韩国人制作的DOTA Chaos地图,被誉为“华丽的舞娘”的Chaos一开始的名称是"Defence Of The Ancient Chaos”,这当然也是想让玩家混淆,以为是Eul的新作,藉此打开知名度.经历过Classic的洗礼,此时的DOTA的战术已发展的十分充足,因而在Classic上成为一个高手十分不容易.比起Classic,Chaos更容易上手,而且有很全新的英雄,华丽的法术.　　华丽是Chaos最值得称道的地方，道具合成的概念也为该作首创，并且Chaos还有隐藏人物可供选择。曾几何时，Chaos的玩家依靠简单的控兵便能享受杀戮的快感。可惜的是，因为在Chaos中所有英雄都不平衡。很长一段时间内,曾经在亚洲战网上风极一时.但是因为仅仅推出了韩文版本,所以除了亚洲以为,世界范围内并没有大规模流行起来.2.4、DOTA EX　　“远古的巨人”DOTA EX是由Wasabi制作,也就是“朱老师魔兽教室”站长制作的一张类似DOTA地图，DOTA EX是最类似DOTA Classic(Eul)版本的一版,拥有ROC时代DOTA的很多特点，因此得到不少ROC老玩家的支持。但是这张地图并不为Eul所承认。该地图拥有平衡的人物和技能，并通过多次改版使所有道具更为实用，并衍生出分工合作的战术。但战术的多样和精细的控兵，也扼杀了新手存活的空间，造成许多新手后继无力——毕竟在一个团队游戏中，有一个新手会对队友造成一些负担。在EX较平衡的设定下，英雄的等级上限被设定为10级，各玩家的经验和钱的差距也不会过大，而比起其他类DOTA地图，游戏中的普通士兵杀伤力更显强大。细腻成为该作的代名词！但是当EX不再更新，Chaos和AllStars崛起后
