Green Day is an American rock trio formed in 1987. The band has consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool for the majority of its existence. The band is credited as one of the two main bands, along with The Offspring, who put the punk revival into process.Green Day was originally part of the punk scene at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. The band"s early releases for independent record label Lookout! Records earned it a grassroots fanbase. MV请到了 Jamie Bell 和 Evan Rachel Wood 出演。整个MV好似一部浓缩在7分钟内的电影，Green Day唱歌的画面不时的穿插故事的对白。大意应该是一对幸福的情侣的生活和梦想因男的去打伊战而被破坏得粉碎。男的是那种有着自己理想的男生，他的理想却在残酷的战争面前显得是那样的苍白无力。 前半段两人真的好甜蜜,加之质朴而温暖的画面,甜蜜的让人有点羡慕的喘不过气来 随着那段两人的对吼(这段其实挺让人难过的) 进入了让人感觉blue的后半段 看完,该满眼都是泪了吧 wake me up when September ends这一曲最有意思.大家对她的讨论已经脱离了专辑所要表现的故事内容. 没错,这是billie借机表现对父亲的怀念的,他的父亲死于1982年9月,而当时billie只有十岁. 其中的一句歌词7 years has gone so fast用的别有深意.1982年billie的父亲死去,7年后也就是1989年,正是他已green day身份组队出头的一年. 而这一曲wake me up写于2002年,于1982正好相差了20年... 这也就印证了那句 20 years has gone so fast的歌词. 当然老美的看法也很有意思,他们认为这首歌是写给billie的儿子约瑟夫的,因为billie自己当上了爸爸所以就想起了他爸爸......(晕死...) 其实这首歌真正要表现的主题,我认为还是反战.那就是纪念在9.11事件中死去的人们.希望这样悲惨的事件赶快过去,希望悲剧不要重演.

green day 一直奉行反战思想，这在他们的专辑和一些曲目中能够表现出来，如《21guns.》，歌名 21 guns翻译位21响礼炮~而21响礼炮所代表的是和平， 歌词里也有"Throw up your arms into the sky"-----把武器都抛向天空吧这样的句子~~表达了GREEN DAY反战的思想。2004年9月21日Green Day发行了他们主流唱片公司的第五张专辑《American Idiot》，再次引发了轰动。 从专辑封面上一颗如同心脏一样的滴血手雷就可以确定这张专辑所蕴含的战争气氛。这张专辑虽然是关于战争和政治，原本一支朋克乐队可以非常自如的以这个借口来发泄，但是Green Day并没有这么简单的处理这样难得的好题材，他们以自己的方式描述了战争和政治观点。在朋克式的发泄同时又注入了更多的人性关怀，这些人性关怀也让整个专辑除了朋克情绪的喧嚣之外更多的出现了凄凉，无助，在发泄自己的愤怒的同时表现了战争所带来的痛苦。
