Lovelock states:“The important and overriding consideration is time; we have nuclear power now, and new nuclear building should be started immediately. All of the alternatives, including fusion energy, require decades of development before they can be employed on a scale that would significantly reduce emissions. In the next few years, renewables will add an increment of emission-free energy, mainly from wind, but it is quite small when compared with the nuclear potential.”Stewart Brand, founder, publisher, and editor of The Whole Earth Catalog. Brand states:“Now we come to the most profound environmental problem of all … global climate change. Its effect on natural systems and on civilization will be a universal permanent disaster. … So everything must be done to increase energy efficiency and decarbonize energy production. Kyoto accords, radical conservation in energy transmission and use, wind energy, solar energy, passive solar, hydroelectric energy, biomass, the whole gamut. But add them all up and it"s still only a fraction of enough. … The only technology ready to fill the gap and stop the carbon dioxide loading of the atmosphere is nuclear power. … It also has advantages besides the overwhelming one of being atmospherically clean. The industry is mature, with a half-century of experience and ever improved engineering behind it. … Nuclear power plants are very high yield, with low-cost fuel. My Dream 　　When I was a naughty boy, may be because of the influence of the film."Xiao Bing Zhang Ga",my dream was to be a soldier just like Zhang Ga. I thought if I was a soldier, I should be able to swim, dive and climb trees as he did. It seemed to be very wonderful. So I began to learn swimming, diving and climbing trees. I practiced every day and finally I could do them well. But when I entered junior high school and had the military training. I suddenly found that being a soldier was very difficult and I wasn＇t strong enough to bear it . I had to give my dream up.　　But I wasn＇t discouraged, and I had new aim, which was to be a postman, or rather to be a newspaper boy. As a newspaper boy. I could speed along streets on a bike and throw newspapers onto every porch. That＇s also very cool. So I started learning to ride a bicycle. After the everyday practice, I could go very fast by bicycle. But to my disappointment, the job which I wanted only existed in western counties not in China, because there was no porch in China. 　　英语演讲比赛从策划到预赛到决赛，整个时间差不多有半个多月，在这半个多月里，英语读书社及外语系团总支的同学都付出了辛勤的劳动。首先，从策划说说，本次英语演讲比赛的策划有两份，一份是外语系团总支的，一份是我们英语读书社的，从策划的内容来看，外语系的更注重活动的流程，而英语读书社的更注重前期的宣传，在策划过程中许多同学都献言献策，把活动考虑的更周全，更完美，两份策划的相辅相成，给本次活动的顺利开展提供了保证。 　　在宣传工作中，院团委的负责在班上宣传，而我们社团则设置了报名点，让更多的同学参与到本次活动中来，在设置了报名点的值班人员都认真负责，本次活动一起有80多人参加了比赛，说明我们的宣传工作是做的非常充分的，当然，在这期间我们也非常感谢院团委级外语系团总支的鼎力支持。 　　本次演讲比赛的由外语系的老师做评委，本次比赛为了公平起见，分为专业组和非专业组，其中晋级决赛的同学有16名，其中专业组8名，非专业组8名。在初赛的时候，外语系团总支成员和英语读书社的机构成员都分工明确，让活动有条不紊的展开，在活动的时候，由于参赛人员太多，没有把时间安排好，导致是活动进行到10点左右才结束，这一点是我们的失误，俗话说得好“在哪儿跌倒，就要在哪儿爬起来”这一点在决赛中就很好的应证了，在决赛中，为了不出现上次的情况，就把时间提前了，我相信这也是大家所希望的。所以在决赛中的时间安排是很合理的。 　　四、存在问题：在比赛过程中，我们发现了很多不足之处，比赛仍有很多漏洞。首先，在为评委准备笔时，我们忽略了笔没有水的问题，结果真的有一支笔不好使了。因此，我们的比赛很可能就是因为一支笔而不能正常进行。从中，反映了我们的工作的不细致，一些细节问题没有注意到，是我们工作的一大疏忽。其次，在每位选手结束演讲后，我们没有安排专门的工作人员去评委手中拿评分表，不得不让我部部长去担任此工作，这同样是我们工作的不周全之处，人员安排上仍不是很合理。还有，在比赛进行到即兴演讲环节时，主持人让第一环节的得分最高的选手先抽题进行演讲，这样安排同样也是不合理的，而是应该让得分高的选手后演讲，留给她更多的时间去思考，以便其更好的发挥出其过人的英语口语水平，展示其英语功底。所以，我们会吸取本次比赛的经验教训，在以后的工作中，注重细节，考虑周全，争取将工作做的更好！
